The assignment tool in Moodle enables you to:
* Extend your instructional presence beyond the classroom with assignment instructions, due dates and required resources.
* Verify student electronic submissions within Moodle instead of your email.
* Streamline your grading workflow with rubrics and grading guides.
* Incorporate in-class assessments (like presentations or exams) into the Moodle gradebook.
* Reuse the assignment next time you offer the course.

Session Information:
Wednesday (Feb. 11) 12:30-3:00 p.m. in Old Main 206
Thursday (Feb. 12) 12:00-1:40 p.m. in OGC 112

6th Annual Auggies vs. Tommies Fitness Challenge

Time to take it to the Tommies! The Auggies and Tommies faculty/staff will be back at it for the 6th Annual Auggies vs. Tommies Fitness Challenge. To date WE are 3-2 in these challenges.
Before you ask, YES we are returning to our old tried and true method of reporting points . . . to me!
Read below for details.

What: 8 weeks of friendly and healthy competition
Who: Any faculty and staff (full-time, part-time, adjunct)
When: Starting February 18 - April 15
Where: Anywhere you want to work out as long as it is at least for 30 minutes (doesn't need to be all at once).
How:
30 minutes of activity = 1 point
60 minutes of activity = 2 points
14 points is the maximum points/week. Each week the winner will be announced based on the average for the team. The goal is to win the most weeks during this 8 week challenge.
· Fac/staff with an Augsburg HSA, who report their points on time every week will receive a $50 contribution to their HSA.
· Fac/staff without an HSA, who report their points on time every week will be entered in a drawing for various prizes.

Rules of the Competition:
1) Sign up by sending enke@augsburg.edu an email that you are interested in participating.
2) Keep track of the number of points earned each week (14 is the maximum/week).
3) A week starts on Wednesday and ends on Tuesday at midnight.
4) If you miss reporting your total by Wednesday @ 2:00 p.m., your points will not count for that particular week. You can participate the following week but you will not be allowed to use any points from the previous week.
5) This is a fun competition between Augsburg and St. Thomas but the MAIN goal is to get folks motivated to add some (or perhaps more) physical activity into their weekly routine.
6) Every week we will announce the school winner.
7) Folks can join in at any time in the program and their points start at that particular time.
8) Reporting points is EASY - I will send a reminder email on Tues. and Wed. of each week.
All you need to do is: 1) click "reply" to my reminder email, 2) in the upper left of your reply, click on the reply arrow, 3) scroll to "Edit Subject" and 4) replace the subject with your points (ex. 1-14) for the week. That's it!

Dates of Competition:
Week #1: Wed., Feb. 18 ends Tues., Feb. 24
Week #2: Wed., Feb. 25 ends Tues., Mar. 3

Be the Match - Sign Up. Save a Life.

Be the Match Bone Marrow Registry

Date: Wednesday, Feb. 11 & Thursday, Feb. 12
Time: 10 am - 2 pm
Where: Christensen Center

Augsburg Baseball is hosting another Be the Match Bone Marrow Registry. This is an opportunity for students, staff, and faculty to sign up to be a potential match for a patient suffering from different blood illnesses and cancers. Over 70% of patients needing a transplant do not have a matching donor within his or her family. That is why it is so important to continue to build the registry.

Please take 10-20 minutes out of your day to come to Christensen to sign up to be a part of the bone marrow registry. Signing up does not necessarily mean you will be a match and have to donate. But if you are, you have the opportunity to save a patient's life.

Please check out the Be the Match website for any more information. With today's technology and medicine, it has become much easier and less painful to donate.

Hope to see you there tomorrow and Thursday.

Thank you and go AUGGIES!
