Congratulations to Michael Grewe
It is my distinct pleasure to announce the promotion of Michael Grewe from Coordinator of LGBTQIA Services to Director of LGBTQIA Student Services. Mike's new title and position are well-deserved and this promotion will continue to support him as an agent of change here at Augsburg College. AchieveMpls Graduation Coaches Needed
AchieveMpls is seeking volunteers to serve as Graduation Coaches, providing one-on-one mentoring for high school juniors as they navigate the path to college and careers. Graduation Coaches volunteer for 2-3 hours per month, meeting with their student during the school day at a Minneapolis public high school and following up over e-mail. Training and curriculum are provided and a 9-month academic year commitment is required. If you are interested in participating in the AchieveMpls Graduation Coaches program, please contact Steve Peacock; peacock@augsburg.edu.

As a reminder, candidates for the Director of Public Safety position are on campus and hosting open forums. The last open forum is on Friday, July 25 from 10:30-11:30 in Marshall.

Scroll to the very bottom and select the category "Director of Public Safety"
Click on the community site and self enroll

Farewell Event for Janine Kellogg
Janine Kellogg, Assistant Director of Public Safety, will be leaving her job on July 25. Please come and celebrate Janine's 10 years of contributions to the Augsburg community. Wed., July 23, 3:30-4:30, student art gallery, Christensen Center.
MFA Summer Residency - Readings and Screenings
The MFA in Creative Writing 2014 Summer Residency is on campus through Sunday, July 27. Please join us in welcoming our very talented students and acclaimed writers to campus for this festival of craft talks, workshops, evening readings and more. This summer's visitors include Pulitzer prize-winning science journalist Deborah Blum, playwright Kristoffer Diaz, poet/memoirist Alex Lemon, screenwriter Bill Wheeler, and author Pam Houston. They will be joining our own MFA mentors, Nicole Brending, Stephan Eirik Clark, Cass Dalglish, Jack El-Hai, Heid Erdrich, John Gaterud, Sarah Myers, Cary Waterman and Steven Wingate.
We invite you to join us for the evening readings/screenings and receptions, at which featured writers will be available to sign their works. All events begin at 7:30 p.m., and the public is invited. Free.

McNair Scholars 2014 Summer Research Presentations
One component of the McNair Scholars Program is a 10-week summer research project. Each year students work with a faculty mentor on a specific topic, culminating in a final paper and presentation. In August students will be attending and presenting at the 22nd Annual McNair Scholars Symposium at the University of California-Berkeley. If you would like the opportunity to see these presentations at Augsburg, please join us this upcoming Tuesday, July 22, at 10 am in Kennedy 303/305. Attendees are encouraged to select topics that interest them and to offer support and feedback to the Scholars. This event is open to the public, including all interested students, faculty and staff.
