Interns needed in Admissions for 2007-08

Admissions is looking for two interns to take over the work of the Homemade website. This new site has been created by students during the past year. We need students to continue this work into the next year. Students will be paid and can earn internship credit for their experience. We are looking for students with an interest in marketing and a knowledge of web page creation. Interns oversee the hiring of student bloggers and film producers and are responsible for determining the content of the Homemade site. If you are interested in one of these positions, please submit your resume to Carrie Carroll, Director of Admission.

Wednesday, April 18th is National Day of Silence, observed each year by individuals who are silent throughout the day to represent the silence of sexual/gender minorities. On the evening of the 18th, to "break the silence" Queer and Straight in Unity is sponsoring a concert from 6-8pm in the Foss chapel by "The Girls" a local band. We also will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Brian Colby food shelf. Come, it will be fun, bring your friends!

Get Outside: Earth Day is Sunday, April 22!

Spring in the Valley 2007, an Earth Day event, will be held at the private non-profit Silkesnas (silk-es-nas) Nature Preserve owned by Professor Lori Peterson & her husband Rob on Earth Day from 1-5pm. Activities are geared toward all ages and are held out of doors. Hiking on natural terrain of light difficulty is required. Visitors should plan to spend approximately two hours to take in all of the activities, including viewing the natural beauty of the area and visiting with and learning from the various subject matter experts volunteering at the Preserve.
