Financial Aid Deadline Information

Did you know that undergraduate students have LESS than one week to wrap up their financial aid application for 2007-08? The annual financial aid priority deadline is April 15th. This means that students need to complete a 2007-08 FAFSA (remember to sign it!), submit their 07-08 verification worksheet (remember to sign it!) and turn in copies of taxes (once again
sign these!). The Financial Aid Counselors will be having walk in hours at a window at the EC from 2:30-4:30 during the month of April. Stop by and see them if you have questions or need help.

Augsburg College will conclude the 2006-07 Vocatio Chapel Series with writer Elizabeth Hunter. Elizabeth is a section editor of The Lutheran magazine, the magazine of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Raised in the Twin Cities, Elizabeth now lives in Chicago with her husband, a hard-working youth director, and her two children, Evan and Jacob. Jacob is only 4 months old, and he will be joining Elizabeth during her visit!

Nobel Peace Laureate Shirin Ebadi to speak
Message: Nobel Peace Laureate Shirin Ebadi from Iran will speak on "Defending the Rights of Women and Children" at St Thomas University in St. Paul at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 13. Ebadi was honored at the 2005 Nobel Peace Prize Forum at Augsburg College but was unable to attend because of political pressure in her home country of Iran. TONIGHT! Medieval Game Night
Message: The Goliard Society of Medievalists will host an evening of games that were actually played during the Middle Ages. Learn "Hnefatafl", a strategy game played by the Vikings; "Knucklebones and Fivestones", a game of dexterity; and "Riddling", in which a knight must prove that his wordplay is as good as his swordplay! Message: If you will be graduating this year and have taken out a Stafford Loan in the past, then you must complete your Stafford Exit Loan Counseling. This Thursday in Old Main room 18 from 6:30 to 7:30pm, the Financial Aid Office will be holding an Exit Counseling session for you to learn what it means to enter into repayment and if consolidation is the right thing to do. If you are not able to make it to this session we will be holding another session in the next couple of weeks that will be announced at a later time. If you are not interested in coming to our session, then you can also complete your Exit Loan Counseling online at www.mapping-your-future.org.
