Hagfors Center: Gaining height

Rain and hot weather last week drove the need for adjustments in the weekly work activities on the Hagfors Center construction site. (As with any major construction project, changes in weekly work activities due to weather and other factors are to be expected.) Installation of the second-story concrete formwork, however, remained the top priority last week, so that the concrete pours for the second floor would remain on schedule. A summary of expected construction activities for this week is posted on http://www.augsburg.edu/hagforscenter/construction-project-updates . Today's post includes the following:

[1] Photo of the construction site from Sunday night, August 8
[2] Second-floor concrete pours
[3] Street closures on South 6th Street and 21st Avenue South (August 10-16)
[4] Second-floor columns
[5] Ground-level slab and utility work
[6] Utility pole removal
[7] Security lighting installation
[8] Work on the west side of Oren Gateway Center

As this work progresses, please watch Amail and posted signage for activities that may impact pedestrian or vehicle traffic on campus.

Hi Everyone!

I am looking for magazines of all sorts for some literacy projects I will be conducting in Oct./Nov. If you have any magazines that you were going to throw away, can I have them? I am willing to pick them up or you can bring them by my office in Sverdrup Hall 3, CB 312.

Thanks!
