Event Announcements

Chapel @ 10:40am: The Hermit Songs

Please join us in the chapel at 10:40am as we celebrate St. Cecilia Day. St. Cecilia is the patron saint of music, and our observance will feature a performance of Samuel Barber's "Hermit Songs," sung by soprano and MacPhail faculty member Mary Laymon, accompanied by pianist/College Organist, Sonja Thompson. This cycle of ten songs for voice and piano are settings of poems, thoughts or observations of ancient Irish monks and scholars from the 8th to 13th centuries. They speak in straightforward, witty, and often surprisingly modern terms of the simple life they led - close to nature, their animals and to God.

Chapel this week:
Tuesday, 11/24, 10:40am: Augsburg Jazz Ensemble
Wednesday, 11/25, 10:40am: Service of Holy Communion, followed by pie!
Thursday-Friday, 11/23-24: No Chapel - Thanksgiving Holiday

We gather in Hoversten Chapel, Foss Center - Everyone is welcome!
