Minnesota State Fair Volunteers Needed
It's time for the Great Minnesota Get Together! August 27-September 7 are the dates, 9-1, 1-5 and 5-9 are the shift times. Because of our increased interest last year (the wheel was spun over 5,000 times!), we need even more volunteers. We will need THREE volunteers at the two shifts during the day.
Shifts are already filling up fast, so please contact me as soon as possible. Email is herron@augsburg.edu or my ext. is 1525.

Einstein's is open from 7:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. with a condensed menu.
The Commons is open from 7:15-8:15 a.m. for breakfast, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. for lunch, and 5-5:30 p.m. for dinner.
Nabo is closed.
Retirement Reception for Barb Gaiser
After 7 years of outstanding service as executive assistant to the president, Barb Gaiser is retiring. Please join us for a reception honoring Barb: Monday, July 20 from 2-3 p.m. in the president's office suite, Memorial Hall.

MFA Summer Residency - Readings and Screenings
The MFA in Creative Writing 2015 Summer Residency will be held Thursday, July 23 through Sunday, August 2. Please join us in welcoming our group of very talented students and acclaimed writers to campus for this festival of craft talks, workshops, evening readings and more. This summer's visiting writers include memoirist Sue William Silverman; poet Marci Vogel, winner of the first Howling Bird Press book award; novelist Helene Wecker; playwright Carson Kreitzer; and Ken Rance, screenwriter of the film NEW IN TOWN. They will be joining our own MFA mentors, Nicole Brending, Stephan Eirik Clark, Cass Dalglish, Jack El-Hai, Heid Erdrich, Sarah Myers and Cary Waterman. In addition, eleven of our graduating MFA students will be giving public readings of their works - Trena Bolden-Fields, Ashley Cardona, Jayne Carlson, John Garland, Dominique Haikel, Jay Moad, Cindy Morgan, Roseroberta 'Bobbi' Pauling, Jen Shutt, KatieJo Sonneman and Amanda Symes.
We invite you to join us for the evening readings/screenings and receptions, at which featured writers will be available to sign their works. All events are free and the public is invited.

West Bank Farmer's Markets Start Next Week
On July 23rd, the West Bank Farmers Market will host the first market of the season on Augsburg's campus. Markets will be open every Thursday, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., located at the Ice Arena Plaza at 2323 Riverside Ave. Tuesday markets will be open 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. at the Dania Hall site on Cedar Ave (427 Cedar Ave). Enjoy fresh produce from local farmers right in your neighborhood! We accept EBT/SNAP, WIC, and credit cards.
