Public Safety and Facilities Announcements

Faculty/Staff Needed for Parking Appeals Committee

The Department of Public Safety is seeking faculty and staff volunteers to serve on the parking appeals committee. The appeals committee will meet once a month during the academic year to review all parking ticket appeals to decide on the final outcome of the ticket fine.

Writing Lab Is Open for Summer Students

Summer students, remember the Writing Lab! The lab is open (with reduced hours) through August 21. The lab is located on the street level of Lindell Library and is just left of the circulation desk. This service is free and available to all Augsburg students; no appointments are taken. Just show up with your ideas and your work-in-progress (hard copy). Here are the summer hours:

Mondays and Thursdays: 4:30-7 p.m.

Einstein's is open from 7:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. with a condensed menu.

The Commons is open from 7:15-8:15 a.m. for breakfast, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. for lunch, and 5-6 p.m. for dinner.

MFA Summer Residency - Readings and Screenings

The MFA in Creative Writing 2015 Summer Residency will be held from Thursday, July 23 through Sunday, August 2. Please join us in welcoming our group of very talented students and acclaimed writers to campus for this festival of craft talks, workshops, evening readings and more. This summer's visiting writers include memoirist Sue William Silverman; poet Marci Vogel, winner of the first Howling Bird Press book award; novelist Helene Wecker; playwright Carson Kreitzer; and Ken Rance, screenwriter of the film NEW IN TOWN. They will be joining our own MFA mentors, Nicole Brending, Stephan Eirik Clark, Cass Dalglish, Jack El-Hai, Heid Erdrich, Sarah Myers and Cary Waterman. In addition, eleven of our graduating MFA students will be giving public readings of their works - Trena Bolden-Fields, Ashley Cardona, Jayne Carlson, John Garland, Dominique Haikel, Jay Moad, Cindy Morgan, Roseroberta 'Bobbi' Pauling, Jen Shutt, KatieJo Sonneman and Amanda Symes.

We invite you to join us for the evening readings/screenings and receptions, at which featured writers will be available to sign their works. All events are free and the public is invited.

West Bank Farmers Market at Augsburg Opens July 23

On July 23rd, the West Bank Farmers Market will host the first market of the season on Augsburg's campus. Markets will be open every Thursday, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m., located at the Ice Arena Plaza at 2323 Riverside Ave. Tuesday markets will be open 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. at the Dania Hall site on Cedar Ave (427 Cedar Ave). Enjoy fresh produce from local farmers right in your neighborhood! We accept EBT/SNAP, WIC, and credit cards.
