Keeping Track of Auggies

Congratulations to David Lapakko

Congratulations to David Lapakko(communication studies and MAL professor), who this year was crowned "America's Greatest Thinker" at the 23rd annual Great American Think-Off in New York Mills, Minn.

David won his semifinal round over David Eckel of Clayton, N.C.,a software developer. In the finals he defeated Paul Terry, chief science officer at Staywell in St. Paul. This year's debate question was, "Does Technology Free Us or Trap Us?", with Professor Lapakko arguing the "freedom" position.

Learn more at think-off.org. A notice of David’s win was included in the StarTribune’s "Faces" column on Thursday, June 18.
