CTL Grant Applications - February 9th Deadline

Faculty, please visit http://inside.augsburg.edu/ctl/grant-applications/ to access the call for proposals and applications for the Provost's Internationalization Travel Grants and the Summer Scholarship Grants. Applications for both grants are due by February 9th.

The Faculty Development Committee is currently considering redesigning the format for ICD Grants. You may refer to the 2014 ICD Summer Grant Call for Proposals for general information about the grants, but specific details regarding levels of support and the process for grant implementation will be made available in February. The deadline for ICD grant applications is March 2nd.

Career Quick Stop Days/Times Changing for Spring

Career & Internship Services invites you to spread the word to students! Career Quick Stop Hours are changing, and will resume the week of January 19.

Spring 2015 Career Quick Stop hours:
Tuesdays from 2:30-4:00 p.m.
Wednesdays & Thursdays from 1:00-2:30 p.m.

About Quick Stop:
These drop-in hours are designed to expand access to career coaches and to accommodate impromptu student career questions as they arise. During Quick Stop hours students are seen on a first-come, first-served basis for brief, 15-minute drop-in appointments. These times are meant for quick career questions, brief resume or cover letter reviews, or help getting started with an internship or job search.

Quick Stop is not intended to replace longer appointments, and we regret we cannot accommodate career assessment requests during Quick Stop hours (please schedule an individual appointment: 612-330-1148).

Campus Kitchen Community Meal Shifts Start Monday

Prepare, serve, and eat meals with Campus Kitchen this semester! Meal deliveries start up again on Monday, Jan. 12, with opportunities to lead or serve on teams bringing food to youth, seniors, and adults experiencing homelessness.

Complete Your Augsburg Exp. with an Internship

If you have an internship this Spring and would like to use it to fulfill your Augsburg Experience graduation requirement, remember you must register your internship by January 26.

You have two options to register your internship:

- Option 1: Register for academic credit (2 or 4 credits) which also fulfills the Augsburg Experience. For details on the academic internship registration process visit: http://www.augsburg.edu/strommen/internships/internship-registration/

- Option 2: Register for the non-credit internship option (AUG EX3) that fulfills the Augsburg Experience ONLY. For details on the non-credit internship registration process visit: http://www.augsburg.edu/strommen/internships/non-credit-internships/

Both options require you to attend an internship orientation/registration session available on the following dates:

- Tuesday, January 13 at 4:00 p.m.
- Friday, January 16 at 8:00 a.m.
- Tuesday, January 20 at 10:00 a.m.
- Thursday, January 22 at 2:00 p.m.
- Friday, January 23 at 9:30 a.m.

Jan 15: Save on Your Study Abroad Program Today

Before classes start is a great time to work on your application for summer study abroad in Germany or the Czech Republic. Plus, there are TWO ways to SAVE on each of the programs coming up this year - and they are due Jan. 15, which is NEXT THURSDAY!

Apply before classes start next week and get a head start on your study abroad plans!

1. Apply by the early bird deadline of Jan 15 and be entered to win $500 off your program cost! (both programs)
2. Apply for the Hoversten Scholarship and receive one of two $1000 awards! (Prague program only)
3. Apply for the Give to the Max Scholarships and receive one of two $500 awards!Germany program only)

Housing Expo

February 17th, 2015
Christensen Center, East Commons

All Day students will receive a computer generated, randomly assigned, selection number based on class status. Those with the highest numbers will be the first to choose their housing for 2015-2016.
Find current Day students to room with and add the selection numbers of everyone in your group. Once you have the total, find the appropriate time slot and come to the Expo with your student ID and printed selection number email.

Augsburg Total Wellness--Health Screening

Augsburg Total Wellness-Health Screening

Health screenings will be held on Tuesday-Thursday, January 27-29th, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Click on the link below to schedule an appointment now!

Heath screening includes: Total Cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, height and weight.
***This is a fasting test -- please do not eat for 12 hours before the screening. Drink water and take prescribed medications.

Incentive to participate: All faculty and staff who complete the health screening and health assessment questionnaire will be eligible to receive a $100.00 HSA contribution.

Study Flamenco Dance This Winter

Are you looking for a new way to be active and have some fun? Consider studying flamenco with Zorongo Flamenco Dance Theater & School. Winter classes are starting now. Their studio is convenient to get to from Augsburg, located at 3012 Minnehaha Ave., just south of Lake St.

There is also a new yoga class starting on Wed. nights from 5:30-6:30.
