Faculty, Teach Abroad: Proposals Due Jan. 13

Interested in teaching a study abroad course in winter break, spring break, or summer? The proposal form for programs in 2015-16 is available here!

In addition, the deadline has been slightly extended this year; proposals are due next Tuesday, January 13. Consider putting something together before classes begin next week!

As always, Augsburg Abroad staff are happy to meet with faculty interested in proposing, to discuss your ideas, answer questions, and give advice, if that would be helpful. We are in the office - just contact Andrea Dvorak at dvorak@augsburg.edu to set something up!

Campus Kitchen Community Meal Shifts Start Monday

Prepare, serve, and eat meals with Campus Kitchen this semester! Meal deliveries start up again on Monday, Jan. 12, with opportunities to lead or serve on teams bringing food to youth, seniors, and adults experiencing homelessness.

Complete Your Augsburg Exp. with an Internship

If you have an internship this Spring and would like to use it to fulfill your Augsburg Experience graduation requirement, remember you must register your internship by January 26.

You have two options to register your internship:

- Option 1: Register for academic credit (2 or 4 credits) which also fulfills the Augsburg Experience. For details on the academic internship registration process visit: http://www.augsburg.edu/strommen/internships/internship-registration/

- Option 2: Register for the non-credit internship option (AUG EX3) that fulfills the Augsburg Experience ONLY. For details on the non-credit internship registration process visit: http://www.augsburg.edu/strommen/internships/non-credit-internships/

Both options require you to attend an internship orientation/registration session available on the following dates:

- Tuesday, January 13 at 4:00 p.m.
- Friday, January 16 at 8:00 a.m.
- Tuesday, January 20 at 10:00 a.m.
- Thursday, January 22 at 2:00 p.m.
- Friday, January 23 at 9:30 a.m.

Farewell Gathering for Dionne Doering

Please join us today, January 8th, in the Augsburg Room, Christensen Center, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. to wish Dionne Doering farewell and best wishes as she leaves her Director and Chief Human Resources Officer position at Augsburg to become the CHRO at Normandale Community College. Cake and other refreshments will be served.

The Focused Conversations series continues Monday and Thursday next week. Ann Garvey, vice president of Student Affairs, and Scott Brownell, director of Public Safety and Risk Management will facilitate a session on Safety and Security. Do you know what you would do/should do if a campuswide emergency occurred? Check out one of these two sessions:

Congrats to DPS Officer Michael Hamm

Michael Hamm, DPS, has accepted a position with the Dakota County Sheriff's Office. His last day is Friday, Jan.9. Michael has been a DPS officer for the last several years and is an Augsburg grad. Mike will move to on-call with DPS. Congrats Mike!

Study Flamenco Dance This Winter

Are you looking for a new way to be active and have some fun? Consider studying flamenco with Zorongo Flamenco Dance Theater & School. Winter classes are starting now. Their studio is convenient to get to from Augsburg, located at 3012 Minnehaha Ave., just south of Lake St.

There is also a new yoga class starting on Wed. nights from 5:30-6:30 at Zorongo.
