Teaching and Learning

Staff Development Series

All staff are invited to participate in the ongoing series designed for staff. This series addresses both personal and professional development needs. Sessions will be held on Tuesdays from 8-9:30. The workshops scheduled for Spring 2012 include:

July 17, OGC 114 – Getting Involved in Campus Work (Kelsey Richardson Blackwell and Nate Hallanger)
August 21, OGC 200 – Continuing to Learn: Preparing for the Future (TBD)

General Announcements

Agresso Upgrade Weekend of July 14, 2012

Augsburg will be upgrading the Agresso software during the weekend of July 13-15, affecting access to Augsburg academic and financial systems for the weekend. Faculty and staff will have system access for online pay slips on the payday, Friday, July 13, until 6 p.m. when Agresso modules will be taken down for the upgrade.

The upgrade will take place over the weekend, with academic and financial systems coming back online by 8 a.m. on Monday, July 16. This interruption does not affect other network services such as web, email, and calendar.

Reuse Table - Free Stuff

There are many standard-size hanging folders and quite a few loose-leaf notebooks on the Reuse Table for anyone who needs them. Drop off other office supplies or other items that you think someone else would use. The table is located next to the cash machine in Christensen Center.

Event Announcements

TODAY Open House for Carol Forbes

Please join us today for an open house honoring Carol Forbes, who is leaving Augsburg to pursue a new career opportunity. The open house will take place from 1-3 p.m. in Oren Gateway Center 106. Refreshments will be served, and Barbara Farley will offer a few remarks at 2 p.m.

McNair Summer Research Presentations

One component of the McNair Scholars Program is a 10-week summer research project. Each year students work with a faculty mentor on a specific topic, culminating in a final paper and presentation. In August, students will be attending and presenting at a McNair conference at the University of California-Berkeley. In preparation for this conference, current research Scholars will be presenting their projects on campus. This event is open to the public including all interested students, faculty, and staff. Consider joining us in offering support and feedback. See below for details:

Andrea Sanow Farewell Open House

Andrea Sanow, administrative assistant for URGO/LSAMP, will be leaving Augsburg for a position in San Francisco with the Lutheran Volunteer Corp. Her last day at Augsburg will be July 27.

Please stop by the URGO/LSAMP/McNair office suite (Science 152) for cake and well wishes on Thursday, July 26, between 2-4 p.m.

If you have had the pleasure of working with Andrea, you know that her work and her presence will be missed by many faculty, staff, students, and departments, even outside of those she officially serves.

We wish her the best in her future endeavors and can only hope that her professional path leads her back to Augsburg one day.
