We have multiple summer opportunities available for students.

Students receive support throughout the research process from their faculty mentor, a Speaker Series, and weekly seminars with fellow researchers. URGO provides full-time summer researchers (400 hours) with a $4,000 stipend and housing discount while half-time researchers (200 hours) receive a $2,000 stipend. The program runs from May 15th - July 28th.

URGO SUMMER RESEARCH ASSISTANTSHIPS
URGO also provides funding for students to work for a professor as a research assistant on an ongoing research project. This is a 100-hour commitment over the course of the summer and comes with a $1,000 stipend. This is an excellent opportunity to try out research for the first time or focus on a specific aspect of a research project.

General Announcements

Final A-Mail of 2016

This is the last Daily A-Mail of 2016. In order to facilitate a transition to an improved A-Mail system, A-mail will not be sent on December 27-29. In addition, as always, Daily A-mail is not sent on College holidays, which include December 23, 26, and 30, as well as January 2.

Under the new system, the deadline for submitting A-mail will change. The new deadline for inclusion in a day's A-mail will be 11:59 p.m. the day prior to publication, rather than 10 a.m. on the day of publication. This means an A-mail can be submitted at any time during the day (including before 10 a.m.) in order to show up in the next business day's A-mail.

After the transition, a new "Submit A-mail" option will be added the left-hand navigation at inside.augsburg.edu. We expect this to be available Dec. 29. The first A-mail sent using the new submission form will be Tuesday, January 3. Submissions for the January 3 A-mail can be submitted any time after the form is available and before 11:59 p.m. January 2, 2017.

Any posts submitted using the old A-Mail process between today and when the new form is available on Dec. 29 will be lost in the transition. Please do not make submissions for the January 3 A-Mail until the new system is available.

Features of the new system will include:
* a simplified submission interface
* an email receipt confirming each successful submission, including the full content submitted
* the ability to edit a post after it has been submitted up until the submission deadline
* the optional daily digest sent via email will now include links to each individual post.

Please send questions or concerns to a-mail-corrections@augsburg.edu.

2016 Year End Pay Stub Review

Year End Pay Stub Review - For all 2016 faculty, staff and student workers.

In preparation for year-end 2016, we ask each employee to review the items below and contact us with any changes or updates to your personal information that we have on file.

1) Verify the Name and Social Security Number on your pay stub.

In order for the Social Security Administration to properly post your earnings, the name on your pay stub must match the name on your social security card. If your name has changed legally (marriage, divorce, etc.) and it does not match your pay stub, please submit a copy of a social security card displaying the correct name to Human Resources to update your employment record.

To help protect your identity, your social security number (SSN) is not normally printed on your pay stub. We are including it on the 12/23/16 pay stub so the SSN may be verified. Please take a look at your pay stub and verify that the correct SSN is listed. If the Social Security Number on your pay stub is incorrect, please notify HR/Payroll immediately.

2) Verify the address on your pay stub

W-2 forms will be available online by January 31, 2017, however we do request that you review the address listed on your pay stub to ensure we have your correct address on file. If address corrections are needed, an Address and Name Change Form can be found on the HR Moodle. Complete the form and return it to the Human Resources office in Memorial Hall, Rm 19. If you need any further assistance regarding your change of address please call the HR office at ext. 1058.

3) Check your tax withholdings

The tax withholdings you are currently claiming are printed on the bottom left section of your pay stub. If you wish to change your tax withholdings, please complete a new federal W-4 form; which are available from the Payroll department or may be printed from the Payroll page in the A to Z Directory.
