Teaching and Learning

Event TODAY: Tech Tapas for Student Feedback

Studies on retention stress the importance of providing students with frequent feedback concerning their progress. But how does the busy faculty member provide regular, meaningful feedback to students without generating an unsustainable grading workload?

Come to this one hour "Tech Tapas" and learn how your Augsburg faculty colleagues are harnessing learning technologies (audio/video, online advanced grading functions, the Moodle Attendance/Participation and Gradebook and polling tools) to provide substantive feedback in sustainable ways.

Thursday, Oct. 1, 3:00-4:00 p.m. in the East Commons.

Co-sponsored by CTL and the E-Learning Team.

Call for Proposals: Honors Elective Courses

You've heard it all before:

"The Honors Program is elitist."
"Only a chosen few ever get to teach in Honors."
"I'd like to teach in Honors, but I don't know how to apply."

Now is your chance to help us change that perception! The Honors Programs needs electives to meet the needs of our students. We're looking for interesting courses that might be offered multiple times, on a regular basis -- no need to worry about one-off course design. A fully developed syllabus is not needed at this point. We just need some really good ideas.

Please submit your concept proposals, for possible offering in the fall 2016 or spring 2017, by October 30th, to:

honors@augsburg.edu

More details and the application form are available at:

If you have not yet confirmed your project and gotten set up with your GiveMN webpage, please be in touch with Ellie Schaaf at schaafe@augsburg.edu or 612-330-1591 by Friday, October 2nd.
