Call For Papers

If you have not heard of the review, it is an undergraduate interdisciplinary research journal that is published by the Augsburg Honors program. Students do not need to be in the Honors program to be published in the journal. However, all students must be undergraduates at the time of submission. There is an anonymous peer review process, and the submission guidelines can be found on our website: https://honorsreview.wordpress.com/. We are looking for original, scholarly works that address a topic in depth.

The priority deadline is November 15th, which we are extending only to Augsburg students this year. If a paper is submitted before the priority deadline we will give feedback by December 1st and they will have the option to resubmit for publication. The final deadline is January 10th.

TONIGHT - Michael Lansing Book Reading, 7:00 p.m.

Please join the Sabo Center tonight to hear Professor Michael Lansing read from his new book: Insurgent Democracy.

November 12, 2015, 7:00-8:30 p.m.
Magers & Quinn Booksellers, 3038 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis.
Co-Sponsored by the Sabo Center for Democracy and Citizenship

Insurgent Democracy offers a new look at the Nonpartisan League and a new way to understand its rise and fall in the United States and Canada. Lansing argues that, rather than a spasm of populist rage that inevitably burned itself out, the story of the League is in fact an instructive example of how popular movements can create lasting change. Depicting the League as a transnational response to economic inequity, Lansing not only resurrects its story of citizen activism, but also allows us to see its potential to inform contemporary movements.
