Fall Internship Registration

The deadline for fall internship registration is Monday, September 14th. If you have an internship for the fall term that you would like to register, please complete the following steps:

• Academic Internships for 2 or 4 credits: http://www.augsburg.edu/strommen/internships/internship-registration/
• Non-credit internships for Augsburg Experience only: http://www.augsburg.edu/strommen/internships/non-credit-internships/

Students who wish to register an internship for fall term must also attend one of the following internship orientation/registration sessions in the Strommen Center (Christensen Center, Suite 100). Students with an internship seminar course (i.e. PSY400, SOC399, BUS397/399) do NOT need to attend this session, all other students are required to attend one of these sessions:

• Monday, August 31st at 1:00pm
• Tuesday, September 1st at 2:00pm
• Thursday, September 3rd at 4:00pm
• Friday, September 4th at 11:00am
• Tuesday September 8th at 9:30am
• Thursday September 10th at 2:30pm
• Friday, September 11th at 8:15am & 3:00pm

Take Me Out to the Ballpark

Thursday, September 10, 5-7 p.m.

Faculty and Staff, join us for the first CTL event of the year. This event will introduce participants to two local institutions as well as provide time to get better acquainted with colleagues.

Professor Kristin Anderson of the Art Department will lead us on a behind-the-scenes tour of Target Field. The tour will include the Roof Deck, Metropolitan Club, Legends Club, Press Box, Champions Club, and the Visitor's Clubhouse. The tour will start and end at Gate 6, right next to the light rail platform. After the tour, we'll head to the Fulton Brewery for some social time. CTL will pay for the tour, but not (sorry) the Fulton beverages.

Volunteer Opportunity on City Service Day

Health Commons needs your help assembling hygiene kits. The Minneapolis Chapter of Thrivent Financial has provided funds to purchase hygiene kits for individuals who visit the Augsburg Central Health Commons and we need your help assembling them!

Drop by the MARSHALL ROOM in the Christensen Center from 12:30-1:30 on MONDAY, AUGUST 31 to lend a hand. Assembly of hygiene kits should take less than one hour.

We will have snacks and refreshments! We will also provide information on how to get students involved with different community engagement activities, including Health Commons and Campus Kitchen.

While Supplies Last - Renaissance Fest Tickets for Sale

Augsburg Office of Human Resources is pleased to offer discounted 2015 Renaissance Festival tickets available for purchase starting Monday, August 10, 2015 in Human Resources. Tickets can be purchased by check or cash. If paying by cash, please be sure to have exact amount.

The Renaissance Festival is open weekends, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., rain or shine, August 22nd through October 4th. The festival will also be open on Labor Day on September 7th and Festival Friday on October 2nd. Parking is free.

Theater Department – Auditions for Fall Production

Interested in an exciting new take on an old play? Want to create a piece of theater entirely from scratch? Eager to collaborate in an ensemble with your peers? Then this fall's Theater Department season is made for you! Come out for auditions for our two upcoming productions, The Imaginary Invalid and I Don't Know. We're looking for actors, musicians, writers, and visual artists. All Augsburg students are welcome to audition! Join us!

The Health Commons is looking for a student to volunteer to learn more about public health and epidemiology throughout the term. Responsibilities would include data collection processes in community health and learning more about health disparities. Theater Department – Musicians Wanted for Fall Production

The Theater Department is looking for musicians, particularly accordion players or one-person bands, but anything will do, to collaborate and perform in this fall's production of The Imaginary Invalid. Nabo is open from 7:30am-8:00pm.

Einstein's is open from 7:30am-9:00pm, with the Late Night Menu starting at 7:00pm.

The Commons is open from 7:30am-7:00pm. Market Place is serving Chicken with Korean BBQ, Local JoJo Potatoes, Local Fried Zucchini, and Northern Minnesota Wild Rice. Vege is serving Green Beans with Tarragon, Brussels Sprouts with Smoky Almonds, Asian Black Beans, and Tofu Lentil Sloppy Joes.

Faculty and Staff Book Group - Darling

In connection to the September 30 Bernhard M. Christensen Symposium/Humanities and Fine Arts Convocation, faculty and staff are invited to participate in a book group discussion of Darling: A Spiritual Autobiography by Richard Rodriguez.

The group will be led by Martha E. Stortz, Bernhard M. Christensen Professor of Religion and Vocation.

The book group will meet for brown bag lunch discussion on the following dates:

Wednesday, September 9 from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in the Cedar Room
Wednesday, September 16 from 11:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. in the Riverside Room
