Lots J and K Closed Saturday, December 6

Please note that Lots K (the ice arena lot) and J (behind Foss and Music) will be closed at the following dates at times:
From midnight Friday, December 5 until 10 p.m. Saturday, December 6.

Everyone will be expected to have their cars removed from these lots during the times listed above. Failure to abide by these regulations can result in a ticket or tow of the vehicle at the vehicle owners expense. If you have any questions feel free to call DPS at 612-330-1717.

Free Guided Meditation Sessions - Sign Up Now

Human Resources is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a community gathering featuring an opportunity to participate in a guided meditation session to help us relax and re-energize. Jill Englund will be leading four 15 minute guided mediation sessions. Additionally there will be Christmas themed refreshments. We hope you are able to stop over and refuel with a stress break.

Wednesday, December 10, 2014
11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
East Commons, Christensen Center

The 15-minute session will begin with a short introduction to the science of meditation and how it can act as an antidote to the destructive effects of stress, including the added stressors that can accompany the joys of the holiday season.

Sessions guide participants through activities that are simple and easy, leading them to find their own corner of peace and wellbeing. No experience necessary but registration is required and space is limited.

Einsteins is open from 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday and closed on Sunday.

The Commons is open from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. for brunch and 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. for dinner on Saturday and Sunday.

Nominations Due TODAY for Christensen Award

Beginning with this year, we are shifting the timeline for soliciting nominations for the 2015, Marina Christensen-Justice Award.

The Marina Christensen-Justice Award is an annual award honoring a graduating senior student who represents in a high degree Augsburg's motto, "Education for Service." The recipient must have demonstrated a dedication to the kind of community involvement that characterized the personal and professional life of Marina Christensen-Justice, who courageously and effectively reached out to bring equity and harmony to disadvantaged people and communities.

The award (including a plaque and honorarium) will be announced at the May 3rd commencement ceremony.

Faculty and staff are asked to nominate students for this award by December 5, 2014. In making a nomination, the nominator(s) should provide their name and the name of the student being nominated, and write a brief description of the following:

Community engagement work, internships, field work, advocacy and/or service efforts that go beyond the campus.

Nabo is open from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Special of the Day is Spaghetti & Garlic Bread.

Einsteins is open from 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., with the late night menu starting at 7:00 p.m.

The Commons is open from 7:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Market Place is serving Turkey Chili Pie with Cornmean Crust, Caramelized Cumin Roasted Carrots, Cannellini Beans with Paancetta & Rosemary, and Loaded Baked Potatoes. Vege is serving Roasted Herbed Baby Red Potatoes, Ginger Scented Rice, Zucchini with Cilantro Sauce, and Sesame Carrots.

On December 12 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. in the Christensen Center Lobby there will be a meeting with The Food Service Director and a Dietician visit.

ENV 100, AugSem 101-10, ART 250, and the Campus Kitchen are teaming up for an epic meal! Enjoy local, sustainable, seasonal dishes, planned and prepared by ENV 100 students and pick a student-crafted bowl to keep and fill with soup made creatively from food pantry ingredients! Seward Winter Frolic This Weekend

The Seward Winter Frolic and Art Crawl will be held this Saturday, Dec. 6 from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM and Sunday, Dec. 7 from 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM along East Franklin Avenue. The event is hosted by the Seward Civic and Commerce Association and the Seward Neighborhood Group. It is a terrific opportunity to support Seward's small businesses and local artists. Many businesses will be offering specials and hosting events. Local artists will be will be displaying and selling their work at several venues along Franklin Avenue. At 5:00 PM on Saturday there will be a gathering in Triangle Park (26th Ave. and E. Franklin Avenue) to light up the park and to celebrate the warm community spirit of the Seward Neighborhood. Advent Vespers Beings TODAY

Advent Vespers is here!

Please Note -- Beginning at NOON on Friday, December 5, Advent Vespers tickets will not be available at Augsburg College, online reservations will no longer be accepted.

All remaining tickets will be transferred to the WILL CALL table located at Central Lutheran Church in the South Commons Lobby. Tickets will be available for pick up beginning at 4 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Tickets are still available the following services and will be available on a first-come basis at the Will Call table:
- Friday, December 5 at 5 p.m. (less than 100 tickets)
- Friday, December 5 at 8 p.m.
- Saturday, December 6 at 2 p.m. (less than 20 tickets)
- Saturday, December 6 at 5 p.m. (less than 20 tickets)
- Saturday, December 6 at 8 p.m.

A limited amount of Rush Seating will be available for full services, 10 minutes prior to the start of the Prelude.

New Area Rug For Sale

Brand new area rug for sale. 5'3" x 7'5", indoor/outdoor, abstract leaf design in sage green, heather purple, soft gold on off-white background. Plenty soft underfoot for indoors, but washable with a hose! I bought it, decided it wasn't right for the room, but missed the return period. I paid $100 and would like to get $75 for it. See this photo, and I would be happy to bring it here so you can see in person.

Job Opportunity for Students

Hi my name is Frankie, and I'm a student at Augsburg. I'm looking for students who want to make some money and job experience. I use a wheelchair and require assistance with daily living tasks. I'm looking to hire some personal care attendant's (PCAs). The pay is $12.73 an hour.

This job would start in January 2015.
