Parking Appeals Committee - Seeking Members

Public Safety is seeking 2 faculty and 2 students to serve on the parking appeals committee. The committee meets every other week for an hour to discuss and make decisions on parking violation appeals.

2013-14 NASA Space Grant Undergraduate Scholarship

On behalf of the Augsburg Space Grant Program, STEM program announces the 2013-2014 NASA Space Grant Undergraduate Scholarship. The scholarship supports the advancement of academically focused undergraduates seeking professional careers in the natural sciences, especially space physics and engineering, mathematics, and science/mathematics education.

Application Deadline: October 31, 2013
Submit Applications to stem@augsburg.edu or to SCI 154

Students are encouraged to apply if they are:

-A Sophomore, junior, or senior majoring in physics, chemistry, biology, mathematics, computer science, pre-engineering, or mathematics/science education
-Can demonstrate strong academic performance and leadership within their major area; and
-Show an interest in contributing to NASA's mission

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be:
-A U.S. Citizen of the United States of America
-Currently, and through spring semester, 2014, be a full-time student in good standing at Augsburg

Option for Student Insurance

The Affordable Care Act - and You

Students, faculty, and staff are invited to an info session on MnSURE and Affordable Care Act provisions, facilitated by Tim Donovan, the David Agency. Tuesday, October 29, 3 p.m., Marshall Room, Christensen Center. Info session repeats on Wednesday, Oct. 30, 11:30 a.m. (repeats at 12:30 p.m.) in Oren Gateway Center, Room 100. Service of Installation in Chapel

Today in chapel Pastor Sonja Hagander will be installed as College Pastor and Director of Ministries and Pastor Justin Lind-Ayres will be installed as Associate College Pastor. The Service of Installation will take place in the Hoversten Chapel, Foss Center, at 11:30 a.m., with Bishop Ann Svennungsen, of the Minneapolis Area Synod, presiding and preaching. The Augsburg College Choir will sing. A reception will follow. All are welcome.

Honor Longtime Auggie Cal Appleby

Former Augsburg College staff member Cal Appleby will be honored with Access Press' 2013 Charlie Smith Award.

For decades, Appleby was part of a remarkable team that founded and shaped many programs for students with disabilities at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, at the University of Minnesota, and beyond.
