By popular demand, this workshop revisits one of last year's topics with a more in-depth look at the "Getting Things Done" system for efficiently and successfully managing time and tasks in your everyday work. Participants will leave with a framework for thinking about and organizing their work, as well as completing some initial exercises. No background in the system or previous attendance is required in order to benefit from this session. Presented by Andrea Dvorak, International Programs.

Influenza & Tdap Vaccination Clinic on Campus

Influenza and Tdap vaccination clinics are scheduled for faculty, staff, and students.

Flu Shots -Homeland Health provides flu vaccinations to patients ages 3 years and up. Please bring your health insurance card to the clinic. We are an in network provider for Medica, BCBS, HealthPartners, Preferred One, UCare, America's PPO, Prime West, South Country Health Care Alliance and Medicare. We will bill your health plan. If you are not covered by one of these health plans, you may purchase a vaccination by cash on the day of the clinic.

Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria & Pertussis "Whooping Cough")
Is available for those 18 to 64 years of age only. It is covered by HealthPartners, BCBS and Medica at the Member's Benefit Level. Sorry we cannot accept other insurance.

The cash price for vaccine is $25 per Flu Injection, $35 per FluMist and $55 per Tdap injection. We accept cash only, no checks please. Individuals are responsible for the cost of their shots, which may vary depending upon insurance plans.

o 9 a.m.- 12 p.m., September 24, Lindell Library 202
o 12:30 - 3:30 p.m., September 26, Christensen- Marshall Room

Last Day to Charge Your Books at the Bookstore

Tuesday, September 17 is the last day students can charge books and supplies to their student account at the bookstore. All charges will be added to your account before fall financial aid is applied.

Farewell to Heather Ek

Heather Ek started working for the IT department at Augsburg College when she stepped onto campus as a first year student.

Heather Ek has served as a student worker, IT intern and Academic LFC during her time at Augsburg College. She has been a wonderful colleague and IT support person during her years with us.

Free Lockers Available for Commuter Students

Campus Activities and Orientation provides free lockers for students (Day, WEC, and Graduate) who commute to campus during the academic year. Lockers are located on the Ground and 2nd Levels of Science Building.

These lockers are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. To request your locker for the academic year, please print out, complete, and sign the form below and turn it into the Christensen Center Welcome Desk OR Michael Grewe in Christensen Center Room 1D (located on the ground floor in the "Auggie's Nest").

Career Quick Hours - Today

This fall Career & Internship Services will offer a new service to help meet the career development needs of students - Career Quick Stop. These walk-in hours are meant for quick career question and short resume reviews. Appointments will be limited to 15 minutes and students will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis.

Simply check-in at Career & Internship Services (Christensen Center, Suite 100) during the Career Quick Stop times: Wednesdays from 9:30-11:00 a.m. - OR - Thursdays from 2:30- 4:00 p.m.

Individual career coaching appointments are still available – just call or stop-in to schedule.

Saving Face (2004), Film/discussion at Metro State

SAVING FACE, Directed by Alice Wu, is an American romantic comedy/drama film which focuses on Wilhelmina, a young surgeon; her unwed, pregnant mother; and her dancer girlfriend. Featuring the New York Chinese-American community, the film is in a mixture of Mandarin Chinese and English.

Education Department Student Org.'s 1st Meeting

Come join us next Tuesday (09/17) during Chapel Time (11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.)

-Set up a date/time for other workshops such as Racial Justice training
-Advice from upperclassmen about scheduling/MTLE prep/etc.

Goliard Welcome Back Meeting

The Goliards are going to be having the first meeting of the the year on Sunday the 15th at 7 p.m. in the Augsburg Room in Christensen. We will be discussing our plans for the semester, everyone else is welcome. We would love to hear your ideas for events.

For anyone who would like to go to the Renaissance Festival, Professor Phil Adamo is taking one of his classes on Saturday the 14th. The bus is leaving from the music building at 9 a.m. and returning to campus at 3 p.m. There are around 50 seats open on the bus, so tell your friends. The bus ride is free, but you will have to buy your own ticket once you get there.

The Augsburg Pre-Med Club celebrated the beginning of the year with an ice cream party this past Sunday. The party was attended by 23 Augsburg first-year pre-med students. The first meeting of the year will be Wednesday, September 18 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in Science 123. All pre-med students are invited!
