Public Safety and Facilities Announcements

Changes in Facilities and Risk Management Staff

With all of the recent changes within Facilities Management, I wanted to take an opportunity to clarify and consolidate communication information to the community. With my appointment as the new Director of Facilities, any concerns that you would have previously directed toward David Draus (other than insurance needs) can come my way via stuckey@augsburg.edu, or you can reach my office phone at 612-330-1033.

As always, in an Emergency situation, please dial Ext. 1717 if on campus or 612-330-1717 if off campus so that Security can property triage your emergency.

General maintenance or custodial issues that are not an emergency should be entered into the work order system via Inside Augsburg/Administrative Tasks/Facilities Request. If you have not had an opportunity to use the work order system and would like some help, please contact Jill Davenport at Ext. 1297.

If you need Maintenance in a hurry, please contact Dan Hudson, Interim Maintenance Manager, via email at hudsond@augsburg.edu or by phone at Ext. 1744. Similarly, time-sensitive custodial needs will be addressed if you email Michelle Nies, Interim Custodial Manager, at nies@augsburg.edu or dial Ext. 1043.

Risk management and insurance needs should be directed to Jesse Cashman, Director of Public Safety and Risk Management, at cashman@augsburg.edu or by phone at Ext. 1644. Kristin Hansen, Assistant to the Vice Presidents, assists in the insurance work and will field questions and handle requests for liability certifications at hansenk1@augsburg.edu or by phone at Ext. 1026.

Students - Free Counseling Available on Campus

Students, did you know that you can get FREE confidential counseling right here on campus? That's right! As an Augsburg student you can get up to ten free sessions each academic year to meet with a professional counselor. The Center for Counseling & Health Promotion has several counselors to meet with you.

Counseling is a great place to go when you need to talk to someone who is objective and who may be able to help you come up with new ways to work on things you want to work on. Counseling is a conversation about things you want to talk about. CCHP is a welcoming, calming place with offices in a small house on campus. We are located at 628 21st Avenue (first house on the corner of 21st & 7th across from the Anderson/Luther parking lot). Everything at CCHP is all confidential. What you talk about at CCHP, stays at CCHP!

If you would like to find out more about our services or make an appointment to see a counselor, please call the CCHP office at 612-330-1707.
