Mayo Innovations Scholar Program for Auggies
Applications for Augsburg's Mayo Innovations Scholar Program are now available! This program is highly competitive and is primarily designed for juniors and seniors.
What is MISP?
In the process of conducting research, Mayo Clinic scientists have developed new products that may be marketable. These products are submitted to the Mayo Clinic Office of Intellectual Property (OIP) for a thorough investigation of marketability. The OIP has a significant backlog of products to be investigated. One of the backlogged products or inventions is assigned to each MISP team for investigative research and formal presentation at Mayo Clinic.
Augsburg's team will consist of an MBA student, 2 or 3 undergraduate science students, 1 or 2 undergraduate business/economics students, and a Licensing Manager from the Mayo Clinic OIP. The team will work together to understand the science and applications of the projects or innovations and analyze the market potential. Each undergraduate student on the team will receive $1,000. Teams will begin work during October and the final presentations will be in March.
To Apply:
Contact urgo@augsburg.edu to request an application. Completed applications must be submitted to urgo@augsburg.edu by 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25.

The House of Bernarda Alba Auditions
Augsburg Theater Main Stage Auditions
House of Bernarda Alba
House of Bernarda Alba, written by Federico Garcia Lorca, translated by Michael Kidd and directed by Dario Tangelson, is a highly physical take on Lorcas last play, which depicts the life of an affluent family in 1930s Spain. Forced by Bernarda, the tyrannical matriarch, into an eight-year mourning period after the death of her husband, the Alba sisters see all of their dreams and deepest desires smothered by their despotic mothers rule. Forced to never leave the house and cut off from the outside world the asphyxiating atmosphere drives the sisters against each other in an inevitable path to tragedy.
Casting: Female Performers/Dancer
The female cast will perform several roles portraying several ages, as well as the ensemble. The production will be highly physical. No previous text experience is necessary.
Auditions will be held here in Tjornhom-Nelson Theater on the following evenings:
Monday September 9, 6-8pm, arrive by 5:45
Tuesday September 10, 4-6pm, arrive by 3:45
Please sign up for one of the evenings and plan on staying the entire session.
Prepare and memorize a short piece of classic, non-classic text or poetry (does not need to be a traditional audition piece).
These auditions will not have a traditional audition structure. Please wear shoes and clothing for movement and experimenting. NO bare feet, flip flops or stocking feet.
All students auditioning for a role should arrive 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. Please bring a headshot (any size), your class schedule, your work schedule and any known conflicts you might have that may interfere with rehearsals, tech week and performances.
Sessions will begin on time, please do not be late.
Dont forget to check Tjornhom-Nelson Theater door either late Tuesday evening or early Wednesday morning to see whether you have been called back for Wednesday evening.
Call-back auditions will be held Wednesday September 11, 6-8. Plan on staying for the full session.
Rehearsals begin Monday September 16.
Performance dates are Nov. 1, 2, 7, 8, 9 at 7 p.m. and Nov. 3 and 10 at 3 p.m.
