Public Safety and Facilities Announcements

Parking Permit Sales - NOW

Parking permit sales opened to Fac/Staff, MBA, and PA for regular surface lot permits on Monday at 8:30 a.m.

Day Commuter & Resident permits continue to register by class year on the specified day below. All sales open at 8:30 a.m. each morning and continue to the following morning at 8:30.

Monday, Jan. 7th- Seniors
Tuesday, Jan. 8th- Juniors
Wednesday, Jan. 9th- Sophomores
Thursday, Jan. 10th- First Years
Friday, Jan. 11th- All class years

Parking Permit Sales will open to ALL class years on Friday at 8:30 a.m.
Underground permit sales will open to Fac/Staff on Friday at 8:30 a.m.

Please visit the parking website for details on permit types, cost, and registration dates. http://www.augsburg.edu/dps/

Permits will be required in all parking lots beginning Jan. 14th at 8 a.m.

Hybrid Learning Overview and Information Session

Saturday, January 12: 12:10 p.m. (feel free to bring your lunch) Marshall Room

This informal session will provide an overview of hybrid course design and teaching. Expectations for online sessions for hybrid courses under the new academic program structure will be discussed. The session will introduce participants to the support that exists at Augsburg for online/hybrid course development. We will explore sample courses, introduce the Augsburg Moodle template, and have plenty of time for participant questions.

This session will last approximately 45 minutes.

Nominations Open for 2012 Outstanding Staff Awards

Staff Senate is seeking nominations for the 2012 Augsburg College Outstanding Staff Awards. This award is intended to recognize exceptional Augsburg staff members who exemplify the mission statement of the college through their actions.

To be considered for this award, the nominee must have a complete nomination packet that includes:

* At least 2 letters of recommendation

ACTC Bus Service Resumes Jan. 14

ACTC bus service resumes on January 14, 2013 and runs through May 24, 2013. There are no holidays or planned breaks in bus service for spring semester.

The spring schedule and bus stop times will remain the same as fall 2012; either version of the print schedule is valid. Visit www.actc-mn.org/bus for more information on the schedule or to try the new mobile application.

Winter weather reminders:

Delays: Winter driving conditions and traffic delays may affect the ACTC bus. To find out whether the ACTC bus is running late or when it will arrive at your stop, call the Safe-Way Bus Company dispatcher at 651.451.1375 or use the mobile tracking application posted at www.actc-mn.org/bus. ACTC will attempt to announce all bus delays of 15 minutes or more via Twitter (@actcmn) and https://www.facebook.com/actcmn.

Transferring between buses: Let the ACTC bus driver know if you plan to transfer between buses at the St. Kates Saint Paul campus. Bus drivers will accommodate transfers as well as possible.

Cancellations: In case of severe weather, ACTC bus service may be delayed or canceled. Check WCCO.com, WCCO-TV Channel 4, or WCCO Radio 830 for cancellation information.

LGBTQIA Ally Trainings Offered This February

LGBTQIA Ally Trainings are being offered this semester for all students, staff, and faculty:

Tuesday, February 12, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Ally Training II
Wednesday, February 13, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.
Marshall Room

Ally Trainings are offered for all faculty, staff, and students at Augsburg College to gain knowledge, skills, and resources around being intentionally supportive of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex, and asexual (LGBTQIA) communities. Participants will learn about LGBTQIA history and culture, confront myths and stereotypes, discuss heterosexual and gender-conforming privilege, discuss potential scenarios, ask questions in a safe environment, and discuss next steps on how to be an effective ally to LGBTQIA individuals at Augsburg.
