Make Sure your Hiking Boots are Broken In

For the upcoming study abroad program to Tanzania (May 21 - June 8, 2013), we will spend six days hiking from 5,000 ft. up to over 19,000 ft at the summit, so you'll want to make sure you have boots that don't give you blisters. It will also help to become good friends with your quadriceps, as they will be doing a lot of work. As well, you'll want to familiarize yourself with Julius Nyerere, neoliberalism, ujamaa, jatropha, the Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project, and the Millenium Villages Project. For more information, go to the Augsburg Abroad brochure page: https://studyabroad.augsburg.edu/?go=Tanzania13 and click "Apply now."

Deadline for applying is Feb. 1. The first six students to complete their online application are eligible for free use of nice Mountainsmith internal frame packs for the trip!

Upcoming Grade Submission Deadlines

As we finish up classes and finals for the fall term, please be mindful of the grading deadlines for your classes. The deadlines are:

Fall WEC and Graduate classes – Monday, December 17
Fall Rochester classes – Friday, December 21
Fall Day classes – Monday, December 31

Information about online grade submission and the grading scale can be found at http://www.augsburg.edu/registrar/grades/ .

Final grade submission is important to our students. Many students are dependent on scholarships which require graded coursework for continuance or application for new monies. The timely submission of grades also aids in the notation of degree completion and in identifying students at risk of probation or dismissal. Thank you for your efforts to support our students.

Questions about grading deadlines and policies can be directed to the main Registrar's Office email (registrar@augsburg.edu) or phone number (612-330-1036).
