Athletic Facilities Easter Break Hours
Athletic Facilities - including all areas of Si Melby Hall and Kennedy Center - will have reduced hours for Easter Break:
Friday, April 6 - All facilities closed
Saturday, April 7 - Haglund and Messerer Fitness Centers open 8am - 1pm
Sunday, April 8 (Easter) - All facilities closed.
Transportation Survey
The Augsburg Environmental Stewardship Committee is conducting a survey of transportation choices made by campus commuters. All faculty, staff and students are encouraged to respond to the brief survey at:

Completing the survey will take only a few minutes, and all responses will be kept anonymous, so please be as accurate as possible. This survey will allow us to update our information on transportation to and from campus in 2011, and will be used to help calculate our greenhouse gas emissions inventory.

Lindell Library Easter Closing
Lindell Library hours for the Easter break are:
Thursday, Apr 5: 8am-6pm
Friday, Apr 6--Sunday, Apr 8: CLOSED
Hours are always available from the "Hours" link on the Lindell Library web site: www.augsburg.edu/library
Online library resources are also available 24/7 on that web site.
Easter Hours in the Writing Lab
Because of the Easter break and reduced library hours, please note that the Writing Lab will maintain its regular early and mid-late afternoon hours on Thursday, April 5 (no evening hours). The library and the WL will be closed on Friday through Sunday, April; 6-8. Regular hours will resume on Monday, April 9.

I would like to send a HUGE THANKS 'WOPILA TANKA' to many people that helped make the 4th Traditional Powwow at Augsburg a success!!
To the entire Event and Conference Planning Staff, special thanks to Leslie Larson for her continuous AMAZING work with me on this large event hosted on campus for four years!
The members of the Augsburg Indigenous Student Association, especially the Powwow Committee: Jennifer Weber (Chair) who managed the entire concessions stand, Kassie Benjamin-Ficken who managed the volunteers, Tasheena LaChapelle who organized the vendors, Rikki Dalton who managed the registration for dancers and drum groups, Liberty Greene who managed the Elder's Area, Joseph Vital who managed the upstairs concession stand, John Boyd who did a little of everything, Craig Beaulieau and Mikayla Schaaf who organized the Hand Drum Exhibition during break----YOU ALL DID AN AMAZING JOB!!
Special thanks to the MANY volunteers who included Augsburg staff, faculty AND students. The day was a success because of all of you!

Rental Books
If you are a WEC trimester student - your rentals are now due!!! Books turned in after April 14th will not be accepted as we will have already replaced them. Day student books are due back to the bookstore on May 4th!
"On-Hold" Accounts Payable Checks
Authorization Invoices/Check Requests with a "On-Hold" request originally to be picked up on Friday, April 6th will be available on Thursday, April 5th anytime after 1:00 pm due to the Good Friday holiday.

The deadline to order cap and gown has passed - but no worries - if you did not order, we have ordered a bulk shipment- please come into the bookstore April 20th to purchase. If you are in need of special sizing- you will need to contact me asap!
Graduating in July?
Cap and Gowns must be reserved online by April 13th. www.herffjones.com/college/augsburg You will not need to pay until you pick up! Cap & Gowns will be ready to purchase on May 19th at the WEC/Masters Grad Fair on May 19th. 10:30am-1:00pm. All late orders will incur a $10.00 late charge and must be placed in the bookstore.

2012 Fitness Incentives - Deadline is MONDAY
All employees who are enrolled in Augsburg's health plan were eligible to participate in the 2012 Fitness Incentive Plan.
To participate, enrollees must:
· Work out an average of 3 times per week from January 1 March 31
· Work out an average of 4 times per week from April 1 June 30
Enrollees in High Deductible Health Plan ($2500 deductible) have the potential to be rewarded with the following:
· $250.00 deposited into your Health Savings Account (HSA) in April for working out at an average of at least 3 times per week from January March
· $250.00 deposited into your HSA in July for working out an average of least 4 times per week from April June
Enrollees in the $1000 deductible plan and enrollees in the High Deductible Health Plan ($2500 deductible) that do not have an HSA account have the potential to be rewarded with the following:
· Entry into a drawing to happen in April for a chance to win one of 9 prizes for working out at least 3 times per week from January March
· Entry into a drawing in July for a chance to win one of 9 prizes for working out at least 4 times per week from April June
You MUST successfully complete phase one (working out 3 times per week from January March) to be eligible for rewards for completing phase two (working out 4 times per week from April June).
To track your workouts, you must fill out the tracking spreadsheet that is found on the Wellness Resources Community Moodle site.
You must submit your completed tracking spreadsheet via email to Kelly Crawford ( crawfork@augsburg.edu ) no later than MONDAY, APRIL 9, 2012.
The tracking spreadsheet for the second phase (April 1 - June 30) can also be found on the Wellness Resources Community Moodle site.

Learn about Chiapas in Spanish Conversation
Who are the Zapatistas? Where is Chiapas? Learn about one of the most important areas in Mexico and Latin America while practicing your Spanish. Professor Joseph Towle (Languages and Cross-Cultural Studies) will talk about his experiences as a human rights observer and will share some of his insights into the region, the people and the Zapatista guerrilla. Please join us this Thursday in the Riverside Rm., 2nd fl., Christensen Center for this exciting event! The conversation group meets from 11:00-1:00 p.m.; the Chiapas conversation will start at 11:15 a.m. All language levels are invited to join us. Drop in when you can and stay for as long as you like. Leading in an Online World, April 19
Augsburg's Center for Leadership Studies invites you to attend an interactive panel discussion featuring John Nemo, Steven Jeddeloh, and Stephanie Weiss.
New media and new ways to use them expand leaders' abilities to communicate, inspire, and mobilize in a fast-changing world. This panel of experts will offer insights on using the Internet, social media, and virtual teamwork to enhance your leadership. Each panel member will give an opening presentation. Discussion/questions time for audience participation will follow. Bring your best-practices and insights to share.

About the panelists
John Nemo, director of external communications and public relations for the Minnesota Nurses Association, has more than 15 years of experience as a nationally recognized, award-winning public relations director, social media expert, and multimedia journalist.
Steven Jeddeloh is a veteran organization development practitioner who works with executives and management teams interested in improving performance. He teaches a variety of graduate courses with topics that include leadership, teaming, and organization change.
Stephanie Weiss is the director of news and media services at Augsburg College. Prior to her role at Augsburg, she worked for the League of Minnesota Cities where she was instrumental in researching and advocating early adoption and official use of social media.

Student Nominated & Accepted to Nobel Lindau
Kirubel Gezehegen, double major in chemistry and physics, was nominated and accepted to attend the 2012 Lindau Meeting of Nobel Laureates in Lindau, Germany. This year will be a meeting of the 31 Nobel Laureates in chemistry and physics and a similar number of students that they nominated. The award covers all expenses except the roundtrip airfare.
