Register Now for On-Campus GRE Prep

GRE Prep is offered this summer on campus through the Office of Undergraduate Research and Graduate Opportunity. You'll learn the most effective ways tackle the Verbal, Quantitative, and Analytical Writing sections on the GRE.

The course meets Tuesdays from 5:30-8:00 PM for six weeks (May 31; June 7, 14, 21, 28; July 12, 19) in Kennedy room 303. The cost is only $75, which includes test prep materials; this is a fraction of the cost when compared to similar classroom GRE prep courses offered by Kaplan or the Princeton Review who charge over $1,000.

Alums and non-Augsburg students are also welcome to register.

May and Summer Hours in the Writing Lab

The Writing Lab will maintain its regular hours through the last shift of the spring semester on Wednesday (May 4) of finals week and close at 9 PM. The lab will open again on a May/Summer schedule on Monday, May 9, for the following May/summer schedule:

4:30 - 6 PM on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays:

Memorial Day Holiday (closed)

May 31 - June 30
Fourth of July Holiday (closed)

LSAT Prep Course Reg. Open

If you are interested in Law School, please join the Office of Undergraduate Research and Graduate Opportunity for an LSAT prep course this Spring. Our course instructor scored in the top 1% of test-takers and has taught LSAT seminars for 14 years. Most corporate tutors charge $175/Hour! URGO offers this 3-week course for only $150. It’s never too early to take this course, even if you are just thinking about Law School.

Attn: Students with Campus Boxes - ACTION Needed

All students with campus mailboxes need to indicate forwarding information before leaving campus for the summer. Without this information, your mail will not be forwarded. Please check your campus box for instructions (green flyer) regarding your summer mail, whether you are returning in the fall or not. Turn in the green card to the Mailroom or put in inter-campus mail in one of the mail collection boxes in Christensen.

Special Notes for summer and fall: 1) please remove your personal campus box lock if you have one; we will be doing maintenance on the boxes this summer and will cut off any locks left. 2) personal locks will not be allowed next year; we will have locks available for rent for a nominal fee; stop by the mailroom when you return to school to rent one. 3) we will no longer allow stickers or other markings on the campus box doors.

Be The Match - Bone Marrow Registry TODAY

Some of you had an opportunity to hear and learn more about the National Bone Marrow Donor program at Community Time on Tuesday as well as the Inside Augsburg article featuring student Ethan-Gutzman-Williams.

Be The Match®, which is operated by the National Marrow Donor Program, will be in Christensen Center Friday (4/29) from 10am to 2pm to give you the opportunity to join the Be The Match RegistrySM. You could be the one to save the life of a patient in desperate need, so please consider joining! We are conducting this recruitment drive in honor of and in support of a local 11-year old girl (Imani) who is need of a marrow transplant in order to survive her diagnosis of a blood cancer.

To make your experience as easy as possible, please:
1. Review the requirements to confirm that you are eligible to join.
2. Bring your driver's license to the drive.
3. Bring the names, phone numbers, mailing addresses and e-mail addresses of two family members or friends who do not live with you nor live with each other. The NMDP will contact these people only if you are identified as a potential match for a patient and we cannot reach you. In other words, we will not solicit to the two people you list on your registration form.

To join the Be The Match RegistrySM, all you need is to:

Be between the ages of 18 and 60.
Be willing to help any patient in need.
Meet health requirements. These conditions would prevent you from joining the Registry:
o Most heart diseases or cancer
o HIV or risk for HIV
o Chronic lung diseases
o Diabetes requiring insulin or diabetes-related health issues (such as kidney, heart, or eye disease)
o Autoimmune/neurological disorders such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis
o HIV, or at risk for HIV
o Hepatitis, or at risk for hepatitis
o Diseases affecting blood clotting or bleeding
o Being an organ or marrow transplant recipient
o Significant obesity
o Current sleep apnea
o Recent back surgery, or severe or ongoing back problems

Join us for Focused Conversation
The Human Resources Leadership Committee has been tasked with rewriting the new Employee Handbook. The purpose of this focused conversation is to:
**Discuss the process, and what will happen going forward
**Present two new policies to the campus which are new and in draft form: a) "Progressive Discipline Policy"; and b) "Grievance Policy/Procedure."
