Message: Campus Camp Wellstone will be coming to Augsburg March 31 - April 1. Trainers will be coming from around the country to teach us the skills to be effective in political involvement. All students are encouraged to sign up, regardless of party affiliation. We believe the skills that will be learned at the training can be valuable for Republicans, Democrats, Socialists, Independents, and anyone in between. To sign up or if you have additional questions, contact Maggie at dornfeld@augsburg.edu or call 612-656-6532.
Message:
On a recent Center for Global Education trip to Nicaragua I heard many speakers with various political and social views. I heard one common solution to better life for the people of Nicaragua: education, specifically secondary and higher education. In Nicaragua, the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere, most people live on $1 a day. Secondary and higher education can help people break out of poverty. It only costs $10 to send a Nicaraguan student to high school for one month and $30-$50 for one month of University.
