Happening At Cedar Commons

*INTERFAITH @ CEDAR COMMONS: FAITH AND POLITICS*
THURSDAY October 13, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Join us for dinner and discussion about how our faith and/or spiritual traditions shape our engagement with our governments and the political process.

+ How do the communities we're part of inform our political views?
+ How do we engage with people whose political views differ from ours? Do our faith traditions help us to do this effectively?
+ How do our faith traditions shape our sense of society's future and our role in creating that future?

Do you have to be a person of faith to come? No! We welcome everyone who's interested in discussing experiences of faith and spirituality and how they intersect with the issues we care about.

youthrive Seeking Scholars

Interested in making a meaningful connection with young people? Become a youthrive Scholar!

youthrive is currently seeking several part-time youth workers to work with their Being the Change sites. This is a great chance for college students interested in youth work and education to build experience (and resume entries!) in the field; since Scholars work with individual out-of-school programs about 10 hours a month, the job is very compatible with the multiple demands that students might be juggling.

You will work with groups of Twin Cities middle or high school students to help them build their leadership skills and learn about community action while preparing to meet a Nobel Peace Prize laureate at youthrive's 2017 Youth Forum. Commit for 12 months and have a life-changing experience! Scholars work at school and community youth program sites for 10 hours a month beginning in Fall, 2016.

youthrive accepts Scholar applications through mid-October.

To learn more and apply, visit the Who We Are/Scholars page: www.youthrive.net
