22nd Ave. South Closure Friday and Saturday
Starting at 6 a.m. on Friday, October 9 until 10 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, there will be no parking along the northbound and southbound lanes of 22nd Avenue South between Butler Place and 7th Street South. The City of Minneapolis will be posting "No Parking" signs, along with hooding the meters along that route - please be cognizant of signage and plan accordingly.
Lot K Closure Friday and Saturday
Lot K will be closed starting at 5 a.m. on Friday, October 9 until 10 p.m. on Saturday, October 10 for Homecoming.
Please make sure to move your vehicle out of Lot K before the closure or you may be subject to ticket/tow. Please plan accordingly. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Engaged Department Workshop at the U of M
This event sponsored by the University of Minnesota Office for Public Engagement, Gustavus Adolphus College, and Minnesota Campus Compact is open to departmental teams or individual participants from any campus interested in integrating civic and community engagement into departmental research and teaching activities.
Participants will hear from Andy Furco and leaders in a variety of academic departments that have already planned, implemented, and evaluated strategic initiatives that advanced the integration of public engagement, and will consider opportunities to deepen engaged learning and scholarship in their own contexts.

West Bank Stories, 4 p.m. TODAY
West Bank Crash Course is an un-conference (of sorts) highlighting all things West Bank.
Join us for an introductory crash course into Minneapolis' coolest neighborhood! We'll have workshops and events throughout the week (Monday-Saturday) including a fashion show, craft beer tasting, sambusa-making session, neighborhood tours and more. It's a great way to get to know everything the neighborhood has to offer, and there's something for everyone!

"Go To" Metro Transit Card Promotion A Success
Thanks to the Central Corridor Partnership, Metro Transit and Augsburg College, 146 freshmen students in the day program activated their Go To Cards, and added $10. By doing so, these students will receive $45 on their card from Metro Transit, as of Oct. 9.
Thanks to Augsburg students who worked as interns on this project.
First Light: Sisters of Sunrise Film Event

The Augsburg Native American Film Series presents a special evening of films that explore the power that Native women filmmakers have as creators of legacy and legend. Our evening of short films is hosted by Missy Whiteman (Northern Arapaho and Kickapoo) and includes selected work of Indigenous women filmmakers and animators including Missy Whiteman, Amanda Strong, and Ramona Emerson.

Since the first week's group was small, we decided to do a language exchange and so we all learned both some Somali and Russian. Patrice Salmeri, Director, StepUP, presented on "A Peer to Peer approach Embedded in a Clinical Model" at the University of North Texas, Denton, TX.
Patrice and several students in the StepUP Program participated in the FED UP Rally on Oct. 3 to end the Opioid Epidemic, and the UNITE to Face Addiction Rally on Oct. 4. Both events were held in Washington DC.
