Get to Know ADSG Members

Peace and love, my fellow Auggies! Augsburg Day Student Gov. will be creating a series of short videos so that you can get to know us a little better and put a name to a face. We were elected to serve the student body and we feel it is our duty to let you know who we are! Check out Reies Romero, the newly elected VP of ADSG! Feel free to contact me or any other member of ADSG for questions, concerns, or just to chat! Enjoy and we hope your summer is going well.

Welcome TRIO/SSS Summer Bridge Class of 2015

Twenty-four new Auggies begin their journey at Augsburg College with TRIO/SSS Summer Bridge! This five-week academic program is offered to Augsburg TRIO/SSS eligible first-year students (first generation, low income, and/or have a disability, and meet academic need requirements). Summer Bridge runs Sunday, July 5th through Thursday, August 6th, 2015.

All Summer Bridge students will take REL 100: Christian Vocation and the Search for Meaning with Mark Tranvik, and COM 111: Introduction to Public Speaking with Bob Groven. Summer Bridge students will participate in Supplemental Instruction sessions, attend workshops to learn more about Augsburg College and college life, and take part in social and cultural enrichment activities. The students will develop a strong sense of community through learning and living together.

The Summer Bridge program and TRIO/SSS are jointly funded by the U.S. Department of Education and Augsburg College. Additional funding is provided by the Minnesota Department of Education and the USDA Summer Food Service Program. We are excited to announce that new this year, we will offer full-tuition scholarships to students upon successful completion of the TRIO/SSS Summer Bridge program for four years! Students will be required to fulfill additional requirements throughout the school year as part of the Summer Bridge Promise Grant. A great deal of appreciation goes to everyone who continues to help us make this program a huge success every year!

Any questions about the program can be directed to the TRIO/SSS office
612-330-1311, email triosss@augsburg.edu, or visit our webpage at www.augsburg.edu/triosss . You may also find us on Facebook and Twitter!
