Interim Physician Assistant Studies Director Named

Dear Faculty and Staff,

We are pleased to announce today that Augsburg has named Eric Barth, PA-C, MPAS, as interim director of the Physician Assistant Studies program. Eric has served in the program since 2008, after several years in clinical practice as a paramedic and as a physician assistant. He currently practices as a PA in vascular surgery and emergency medicine. Eric completed his bachelor's at the University of St. Thomas, and his physician assistant training at Trevecca University in Nashville and at the University of Nebraska in Omaha. In his interim director role, Eric will focus on guiding the program through a smooth transition until a new, full-time director is named.

The search for the new program director launched in mid-April and qualified candidates are currently being identified to move forward in the process. Look for additional information in A-mail as that process advances. In the meantime, please join me in welcoming and supporting Eric in this interim leadership role.

Campus Pride Index Rates Augsburg 4.5 of 5 Stars

Augsburg College participates in the Campus Pride LGBTQIA-Friendly Index.

The Campus Pride Index is a national assessment tool assisting campuses in improving safety and campus climate for people who are LGBTQ and ultimately shape the educational experience to be more inclusive, welcoming and respectful of LGBTQ and Ally people.

Augsburg received a 4.5 star rating on a 5-star scale! The recently revised index was much more specific and comprehensive.

Kudos to Michael Grewe, LGBTQIA Services Director, staff, faculty and students on the Queer Issues Group, and students in the Queer Pride alliance (QPA) and all who contributed to creating an inclusive and supportive campus climate.
