Keeping Track of Auggies

Auggies Nab International, National, State Media

Augsburg College during 2014 was featured in more than 220 international, national, and statewide media stories. Faculty, students, alumni, friends, and staff shared a broad range of expertise, experiences, and perspectives.

Please take a few minutes to check out some of the top stories from the year. Everything on the list was the result of partnerships between Auggies and MarComm staff, save for the stories about Edor Nelson '38 that came to be through the good work of Don Stoner in Athletics and the stories about Stephan Eirik Clark's debut novel, Sweetness #9.

The list is not comprehensive. There are many, many more stories. All of them are available on the News and Media blog. Please take a few minutes to look not only at the Top 21 list here http://www.augsburg.edu/news/2014/12/19/auggies-2014-nab-international-national-state-media-spotlight/ but also at the News and Media site.

Thank you for the time and passion you shared in telling your story during 2014. I look forward to partnering with you -- and others -- in 2015.

Auggie Athletics

Augsburg Baseball Camp - Dec. 29 & 30

The Augsburg College baseball team will hold a holiday camp for kids ages 9-14 on Dec. 29-30 at the Edor Nelson Field dome.

The camp will include instruction from Augsburg Head Coach Keith Bateman and Assistant Coach Troy Deden, along with other baseball assistant coaches and Auggie senior baseball players. The camp will emphasize the fundamentals of sound play -- defense, hitting, and pitching. Campers will learn drills that they can take home with them to continue their baseball development. Players will "practice with a purpose" as they learn how to play the game of baseball. Camp instructors will emphasize respect for the game and respect of others. The camp is designed for players who want to get better, are coachable and hustle; the same characteristics that define the Auggie baseball team.

The camp will take place Dec. 29-30 from 12 to 3 p.m. each day. Cost of the camp is $100. Students should come in baseball attire along with their own baseball hat, glove, and any other protective equipment desired. Personal batting helmet and bat are encouraged but not mandatory. Turf or tennis shoes are required; please no rubber cleats. Please label all personal equipment.

Registration deadline is Dec. 22. For more information, contact Assistant Coach Gary Mariscal at 612-330-1454 or via email at mariscal@augsburg.edu.

Visit LivingSocal.com and search Augsburg College to purchase admissions to the camp for half the price!
