Public Safety and Facilities Announcements

Luther & OGC Underground Parking-Transition dates

As the summer term comes to a close, it's almost time to transition the underground parking lots from summer use into fall/year use. Those who purchased either a year (2013-2014) permit or a summer 2014 permit must be out of underground parking by September 1st, this coming Monday.

We will do an audit of both underground lots on September 1st to ticket those still parked there. If cars are not moved by September 2nd we will tow them out with cost being referred back to the vehicle owner. Fob access for the garage doors will be turned off on September 2nd.

Those who purchased a fall 2014 or year 2014-2015 permit will be contacted with spot assignments before September 3rd, next Wednesday. On September 3rd, fall/year users will be able to park in both underground lots in their assigned spots, and their fobs will be updated to include garage access.

We expect a smooth transition, and will continue to remind you to be out of the garage before September 1st. Any questions can be directed by reply email to parking@augsburg.edu, by emailing Mark DeCrans, Asst. Director of Parking & Communication at decrans@augsburg.edu, or by calling DPS at 612.330.1717.

Thank you for your cooperation. Enjoy the final days before classes start!

Hands-On Agresso Training

Thank you to those who attended this week's Hands-On Agresso training workshop.

We discussed the Budget Manager's role and how it supports the college's mission. The importance of coding deposits and/or expenses and their affect on budget/forecast. We learned how to access the Agresso web tool and to use the pre-built browsers to track activity. This presentation will be shared with budget manager's via e-mail.

Thanks again and have a great Labor Day weekend!

2014-2015 Work Study Information

The 2014 fall semester is fast approaching! If you are a hiring manager, please be sure to review the information below regarding student positions for the 2014-2015 academic year.

As many of you know, the state minimum wage is now $8.00. In response to this new regulation, Augsburg College has changed the wage structure for student employees to be in line with the new minimum wage law.

The 2014 – 2015 academic student rates will be as follows:
New Student Rate: $8.15
Returning Student Rate: $8.50
Technical Rate: $9.00 (starting, max $9.50)

Steps to follow when hiring a student worker for the 2014-2015 Academic Year
1. Students who are returning into a position they held previously will only need to fill out the Student Employment Hire form. This form is located on the Human Resources (HR) Moodle site.
2. Looking for a student worker to hire? Any new position will need to be posted on the Human Resources website. Fill out the Student Employment Posting Request form located on the HR Moodle site, return the form to HR, and we will post the position. Applications will be forwarded to the Hiring Manager for review.
3. Once a student is hired, the Hiring Manager will fill out the Student Employment Hire form and submit it to the HR office. Students who have never worked on campus before will need to fill out additional HR forms, including a background check.

Priority for federal and state work study eligibility
As in previous years, students who are federal or state work study eligible, as well as international students, will be given priority through the end of October in hiring. After this time, all students may apply for student worker positions.

New timekeeping system - Kronos
Students will be entered into Kronos once we receive all their paperwork in HR. Look for hands on workshops to attend in September and October. We will be posting information through A-Mail on these workshops.

Questions? Email HR at hr@augsburg.edu or 612-330-1058.
