Memorial Hall Elevator Out of Service this Summer

In order to comply with City of Minneapolis ordinances, the Memorial Hall elevator needs to have extensive modernization. The elevator will be out of service beginning in a few weeks (obviously NOT early June as first thought) for 12-14 weeks. If alternative access accommodations are anticipated for any staff, faculty, students, or customers, please contact Dennis Stuckey at 612-330-1033 as soon as possible.

Green Line Light Rail Stop

DPS escorts are available to and from the new Green Line West Bank Station. The pickup/drop off point is located on 3rd Street South when you turn right off of Cedar Ave, next to Mayday Books.

Escort Hours Changing

Beginning June 21, driving escorts will be available between 9 pm and 7 am. This is a change from the Spring hours of 7 pm and 7 am. This change is in line with the updated "Dusk til Dawn" escort policy.

Walking escorts between on-campus locations are available at all times, depending on the availability of the officers.

Overview

At AAC&U's 2013 Global Learning in College meeting, more than 500 participants laid the foundations for a vibrant community of practice sharing insights, opportunities, and challenges. At the 2014 Global Learning in College meeting, participants will continue to articulate a vision of the global learner and will explore efforts to design educational experiences—across the curriculum and in the community—to help students develop the cross-cutting capacities they need. Domains to be addressed include global knowledge, global challenges, global systems and organizations, global civic engagement, and global identities.

Thanks to Jacqui deVries and Regina McGoff for representing Augsburg on the AAC&U Global Learning Conference Planning Committee.

Augsburg will be prominently featured through:
+ Local Immersion in the East African community (Hosted by CGE and Sabo Center)
+ Augsburg students featured in Plenary: Students' Stories: Influential Experiences and Turning Points in Global Learning
+ Concurrent Sessions (TBA)

New Store Across from Campus

Sisterhood of the Traveling Scarf is now open across the street from Augsburg at 22nd and Riverside. The new store will be hosting an Open House on Wednesday, June 25th from 4:30pm-7:30pm. Drop by and see all the great gently used clothing for women.

Also, women's clothing (and shoes, jewelry, scarves) donations are much needed. Bags can be dropped off at the store or on the Sabo Center porch at 624-21st Avenue South.

Big Neighborhood Garage Sale June 28

Nokomis East Neighborhood has organized its residents for a BIG day of garage sales, Saturday, June 28, 8 a.m to 4 p.m. The neighborhood borders are from Minnehaha Parkway to the Crosstown, and from Cedar Ave. to Hiawatha. Come and roam the sales to find treasures! Pick up a sales map at local businesses or soon on www.nokomiseast.org I will be participating and have two ceiling fan/lights, a 6-foot floating shelf, good quality men's outerwear, gas string trimmer, dehumidifier, an antique doll, flute, bed and bath linens, small trunk, and MUCH more!
