AugSTEM Scholarships for STEM Students: Due July 1
The AugSTEM Scholarship application for 2014-2015 is now available at the STEM Programs website (www.augsburg.edu/stem).
Applications are due July 1. Please encourage eligible students to apply. Students who plan to apply should email stem@augsburg.edu.
The AugSTEM program is designed to support Augsburg juniors and seniors who wish to pursue a career in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Funded by the National Science Foundation, AugSTEM Scholars can receive up to $7,000 per year in financial support. Scholars also become a part of a vital STEM community at Augsburg with opportunities for research, faculty mentoring, and career development.
The AugSTEM scholar award is designated for students who are within five semesters of graduating. Applicants must be full-time students in a STEM major (biology, biopsychology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics and physics) with a 3.0 GPA within their major. This award is available for U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents who demonstrate financial need via FAFSA. Students who began their college careers at community colleges are encouraged to apply for this scholarship.

Receiving Packages or Deliveries
A reminder to all faculty, staff and students regarding packages and deliveries:
In order for our staff in Shipping and Receiving to promptly log and/or deliver your packages, it is important for all packages to come marked with your name and/or telephone number. Tell your vendor or supplier to mark the package or delivery to your attention. Without this information your package may be delayed in delivery or will be returned to sender.
Please notify Shipping and Receiving if you will be receiving a large package or delivery. This will ensure our staff is prepared to unload and notify you as soon as the package or delivery is received.
If you have any questions, please call Shipping and Receiving at 612-330-1750.

Last Chance for a Summer Organic Veggie Share
Augsburg is one of the Twin Cities drop sites for organic vegetable shares from Ploughshare Farm (www.ploughshare.com). The 2014 share owners got an email from Farmer Gary this morning confirming that the first summer shares will be delivered next Thursday, June 12. There are still a few shares left, so if you've been considering signing up there's still time (but not much!).
Go to www.ploughshare.com for more info about share options. If you have questions about what it's like to have a weekly delivery of straight-off-the-farm organic vegetables or about the Augsburg College drop-site logistics, send me an email at rjohn@augsburg.edu .
