Digital Humanities -- An Oxymoron?
The Augsburg community is invited to join students in HIS 280 ("The History Workshop") for a presentation by two specialists in digital humanities on Tuesday, November 19, at 6 p.m. in OGC 201.
Kirsten Delegard, Visiting Scholar in the History department and creator of the Historyapolis Project, will make a presentation titled "The siren song of the digital humanities: or why I'm writing a book on Facebook." She will be joined by Justin Schell, Digital Humanities specialist at the University of MN, who will talk about the projects underway at the U and elsewhere.
In Kirsten's words, "Justin will be great at giving the 'big picture' on the digital humanities ... [while] I'm casting my talk as a 'conversion narrative' that explains why and how even the technically illiterate (like myself) can and should be doing digital history."
Catch the wave!
