CTL Portfolio Workshop
CTL Portfolio Workshop
Tuesday, May 21, 8:00-11:30 a.m.
Location: Riverside Room, Christensen Center
Facilitators: Diane Pike and Su Doree
RSVP to ctl@augsburg.edu
The purpose of this workshop is to help candidates for any type of tenure and promotion review to determine the various forms of evidence that can help build a strong portfolio. The focus is on evidence of teaching, but the strategies directly apply to scholarship and service as well. This workshop is not designed to replace departmental guidance and advice nor is it an analysis of the Faculty Handbook language as it applies to an individual. Following the workshop, participants are encouraged to form groups to review each other's portfolio materials and provide feedback and support. This workshop is sponsored by CTL, not CTP.

Scholarly Writing Retreat - Last Minute Openings
We've had two last minute cancellations for the writing retreat scheduled for Tuesday to Thursday of this week. If you're interested in attending, RSVP to ctl@augsburg.edu.
The fourth annual Scholarly Writing Retreat will be held at Dunrovin Retreat Center near Marine on St. Croix from 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14 to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 16. Initiated by Jessica Nathanson, the retreat gives scholars time and space to work on scholarship, undistracted by meetings, classes, or even children and family responsibilities. Some come to plan an approach to a new project to be completed over the summer; others use it as an opportunity to finish articles they have been working on during the year.

Reimagining Augsburg: Learning, Retention, and Success
May 22-23
All faculty, staff, and students are invited to participate in the fifth annual conversation to co-create an inclusive campus. Please register, so we can get a sense of how many people will be attending each session and meal. You can register at: http://augsburg.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_1TYXUJrfRXBp0gZ
The opening session, "Reimagining Augsburg: Learning, Retention, and Success" includes a keynote presentation by Dr. Eric Jolly, President of the Science Museum of Minnesota and member of Augsburg's Board of Regents, entitled "Engagement, Capacity, and Continuity: A Trilogy of Student Success." This will be followed by reimagining working sessions focused on learning, retention, and success.
Other sessions address accessibility and students with mental health and learning disabilities, current measures of how well we are doing in creating an inclusive campus, and classroom strategies for creating inclusiveness. For a complete schedule, please see http://inside.augsburg.edu/ctl/files/2012/08/2013-CIC-Flyer.pdf
