Memorial Hall Window Air Conditioner Installation
Beginning Tuesday, May 7, the facilities department staff will begin installing air conditioners in Memorial Hall windows. If you had an air conditioner installed last summer, the same unit should be going into your office this year. Please make sure that the area around the window where the air conditioner is to be installed is clear of all items to make the installation process go smoothly. Also, if you did not have an air conditioner last summer and have the need for one this year, please submit an online facilities request. Thanks for your help with this and please contact Terri at adamsth@augsburg.edu or x1566 with any questions.

Lindell Library May Hours
Lindell Library hours during May will be:
Mon.-Thurs., 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Fri., 9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Sat., 10:00 a.m. –6:00 p.m. (WEC 7:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.)
Sun., noon – 6:00 p.m.
We will be closed Memorial Day weekend, May 25-27.
Hours are always available on the Lindell Library website: www.augsburg.edu/library
Online library resources are also available 24/7 on that website.
May and Summer in the Writing Lab
Yes, the Writing Lab will maintain hours during May and summer for all WEC, grad, and summer students. The Lab is located on the street level of Lindell Library, just left of the circulation desk. Tutors will be available to help students with any writing assignment at these times:
May 6 - June 28: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between 5 - 7:30 p.m.
July 8 - August 8: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between 5 - 7:30 p.m.

Congratulations, Patrice
In April, Patrice Salmeri was honored by receiving the Kitty Harris Award at the National Collegiate Recovery Conference. As was stated when conferred, "the award represents the heart of the field of collegiate recovery." Patrice was recognized for going above and beyond the "job" by supporting students who struggle with addiction and raising the nation's awareness of the fight students endure in reaching for a second chance at their lives. In addition, the award recognizes how Patrice shepherded this movement into the mainstream of college campuses. Please join us in congratulating Patrice!

Open Forums for VP of Enrollment Begin Tomorrow
Open forums with each of the three finalist candidates for the Vice President of Enrollment Management are scheduled Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday this week.
The first session is tomorrow, Tuesday, May 7, 2:15 to 3:15 p.m. in the Marshall Room. The resume for this candidate is posted on a Moodle site labeled "Vice President of Enrollment Management Search."
To access the Moodle site, log into Moodle community and scroll down to the very bottom of the landing page where to see a list of all community site categories. When you click on "Vice President of Enrollment Management Search," you will only see only one "course," with the same name. When you click on the course, you will be asked if you want to self enrol. Once you do, the Moodle site will show up in your list when they log into Moodle community going forward.
The link to an anonymous survey for your feedback about the first candidate will be posted in A-mail tomorrow. The remaining two open forums this week are:

May 8: Last ESC Public Meeting of the Year
Interested in Augsburg's greening work, but didn't have time to get involved this year? Come to the Environmental Stewardship Committee's May meeting! We'll be hearing from Suzanne Hansen, the Sustainability Coordinator at Macalester College. We will discuss:
+ her roles with different constituents of the college: Students, faculty, staff (especially facilities)
+ the main components of her job description
+ Power and influence in the decision making of the college
+ Cost savings from her position
We'll also do a little planning for next year and hear about some summer projects - everyone is welcome - students, faculty, staff and alums!

Augsburg Grads Accepted for Internship in China
Four graduating Augsburg seniors have been accepted by the United International College (UIC) in Zhuhai, China, to participate in the teaching internship program for the academic year 2013-14. Jeb Bates, Grace McLagan and Tawakal Hire will be teaching assistants in the English Language Center, and Alexandra Young will be a teaching assistant in the Applied Psychology program. This internship opportunity is available each year to graduating seniors and alumni of Augsburg. The internship program provides round trip airfare, free lodging, Mandarin language and Chinese culture classes, free local cultural trips in Zhuhai, health insurance plus a monthly stipend. The interns will work closely with instructors to maximize teaching effectiveness, conduct conversation groups and interest clubs, lead tutorials, mark quizzes and tests, and hold office hours. Augsburg graduates have been participating in this program since 2006.
