Have You Found the Writing Lab?
Writing tutors are ready to help with any writing assignments you have. Find them in the Writing Lab, street level of Lindell Library, just left of the circulation desk. These are the hours:
Monday: 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.; 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.
Tuesday: 12 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.; 3 - 5:30 p.m.; 7:30 - 10 p.m.

Staff Development Series - Leading and Participating in Effective Meetings

About the Session:
During this session participants will engage in identifying characteristics of effective meetings and discuss specific strategies about leading effectively in a variety of meeting types, including goal setting, agenda building, engaging participants and following up after meetings. Participants will explore the similarities and differences between effective leadership and participation in meeting settings.
About the Facilitators:
Scott Krajewski serves Augsburg College as the Director of IT Services. In that role he directs the staff that create and manage the IT support experience for faculty, staff and students. In addition he works with many departments across campus on IT-related projects.
Amy Gort serves Augsburg College as the Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of Arts and Sciences. In that role, she works with several academic departments and faculty relating to curriculum, course scheduling, faculty hiring, and assessment of student learning. In addition, she works with academic staff in the areas of the library, the Gage Center for Student Success, grant-funded programs, undergraduate research, and Career and Internship Services.

Bonner Leader Applications Now Available
2013-2014 Applications are now available for the Bonner Leaders Program!
Students who are passionate about civic engagement and social justice work are encouraged to apply. The Bonner Leaders Program is a service-based work-study program that gives students the opportunity to make lasting change in their community around issues they care about while developing strong leadership skills.
Applications are due to the Bonner Office in the Sabo Center by March 8.

Augsburg Atheists and Secular Humanists Meeting
The Augsburg Atheists and Secular Humanists (AASH) will be hosting their first meeting of the year tomorrow, Wednesday, February 13th at 4:30 p.m. in OGC 111! This meeting is open to EVERYONE, regardless of beliefs and background, and we welcome a healthy interfaith dialogue.

Practice Spanish This Thursday
Looking for a place to chat in Spanish and meet new people? We've got just the thing for you - Spanish conversation group! All language levels are welcome to join us for laughs and interesting conversation as we practice speaking in a relaxed and friendly setting.
We meet every Thursday from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. in the Riverside Room, 2nd fl. of the Christensen Center. Signs will be posted. Drop in at any time and stay for as long as you like. We promise there will be no grammar lessons! You are welcome to bring your lunch.

Nabo is offering a meal replacement special, one meal plan meal per week can be used to purchase the special of the day at Nabo from 1:30 p.m. to close.
The special today is a Turkey Club Pasta with a bread stick and fountain soda.

Student leaders, student groups, and student group advisors can be nominated for their outstanding leadership and contributions to the Augsburg community this academic year.

This Thursday, February 14, Augsburg College STEM Programs will be visiting H.B. Fuller for a tour from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Any students in LSAMP/NorthStar STEM, Calculus Workshop or STEM Peer Mentoring should email stem@augsburg.edu to reserve a spot as soon as possible.

TONIGHT: Mardi Gras Madrigals - Tix Still On Sale
Huzzah! It's time once again for Mardi Gras Madrigals! This is the midwinter party you cannot miss. Come celebrate with the Goliard Society of Medievalists.
As always, there will be a full medieval feasteaten with your hands. This year, the internationally acclaimed early music group The Rose Ensemble will return to Mardi Gras Madrigals. We also have special guests: the Renaissance Quartet, a juggling troupe from Edina High School. There will be lots of goofiness, buffoonery, and, of course, beautiful music from invited high school choirs and Augsburg students and alums. Don't miss it!
Mardi Gras Madrigals takes place on Tuesday, February 12 in Hoversten Chapel. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Box office opens at 6 p.m. Tickets are $20. Augsburg students get in free, but you must still make a reservation.

Fulbright Student Program: Students spend a year abroad after college 1) teaching English 2) attending graduate school or 3) conducting a research project. Seeking juniors & seniors.
Fulbright UK Summer Institutes: Students spend 3-6 weeks studying a particular issue at a UK university. Seeking freshmen & sophomores.

Elections for the 2013-2014 Augsburg Day Student Government are coming up! Run for Senator, President, and Vice President positions to represent the student body and become a leader in the Augsburg community.
