Speaking of Scholarship Series

These sessions provide an opportunity for scholars to share their work and engage in conversations about what they are doing. Sessions are scheduled from 12:00-1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Apply for a Udall Scholarship - Up to $5,000

In 2013, the national Udall Foundation expects to award 50 scholarships of up to $5,000 and 50 honorable mentions to sophomore- and junior-level college students committed to careers related to the environment, tribal public policy, or Native American health care.

Scholarships are offered in any of three categories:

1) To students who have demonstrated commitment to careers related to the environment including policy, engineering, science, education, urban planning and renewal, business, health, justice, economics, and other related fields; or

2) To Native American and Alaska Native students who have demonstrated commitment to careers related to tribal public policy, including fields related to tribal sovereignty, tribal governance, tribal law, Native American education, Native American justice, natural resource management, cultural preservation and revitalization, Native American economic development, and other areas affecting Native American communities; or

3) To Native American and Alaska Native students who have demonstrated commitment to careers related to Native health care, including health care administration, social work, medicine, dentistry, counseling, and research into health conditions affecting Native American communities, and other related fields.

TFAPS: Hybrid Learning Information Sessions

Hybrid Learning Overview and Information Sessions

Five information sessions to overview hybrid course design and teaching will be held for anyone involved in developing hybrid courses under the new academic program structure. We will discuss expectations for online sessions of hybrid courses, along with the support that exists at Augsburg for online/hybrid course development. We will explore sample courses, introduce the Augsburg Moodle template, and have plenty of time for participant questions.

Nabo:
Nabo is offering a meal replacement special, one meal plan meal per week can be used to purchase the special of the day at Nabo from 1:30 p.m. to close. Hot apple cider is now available at Nabo!

The special of the day is a Turkey Ranch Wrap with chips and a fountain soda.

Hours:
Breakfast: 7:30-9:45 a.m.
Continental Breakfast: 9:45-11 a.m.
Lunch: 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Pizza, Sandwich, Salad Bar: 1:30-4:30 p.m.
Dinner: 4:30-7 p.m.

Please return all coffee mugs, spoons, knives, and forks back to the Commons in the Christensen Center. Thank you for your help in this matter to locate these misplaced items.

CGE Open House: Tomorrow

We would like to welcome the Augsburg College community to visit the Center for Global Education in our new space in Anderson Hall.

Stop by for a tour, light snacks, and a mini silent auction that will benefit our scholarship funds.

We'd also like to use this time to celebrate the end of 2012, our 30th anniversary year, with our colleagues, students, and friends. Everyone welcome.

The open house will run from 2:30-4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27 in Anderson Hall Suite 23.

Velkommen Jul - Friday, November 30

Velkommen Jul is a celebration at Augsburg to welcome the Advent and Christmas seasons. It provides an opportunity for alumni, friends, faculty, students and the greater Augsburg community to come together and celebrate the Scandinavian heritage on which Augsburg was founded. The celebration begins at 10:20 a.m. with an Advent worship service in Hoversten Chapel followed by a reception and boutique in Christensen Center at 11:00 a.m. Please join us and wear your Norwegian sweater!

As part of Money Matter's Money Week LSS Financial Counseling will be on campus for one on one appointments for Students Faculty and Staff. Appointments can cover a wide range of issues including debt, credit, intentional spending, and planning for the future. Employers to Critique Student Resumes

The Strommen Career & Internship Center would like to invite you to drop by our center in Suite 100 of the Christensen Center on Thursday, November 29 from 3-5 p.m. We are holding our Auggies Connect With Employers Series.

Next Thursday the series focus is for students who have an interest in English, Communication or the Arts. Employers from Augsburg Fortress (publishing house) and MN Children's Museum will be on campus to:

* Critique YOUR resume - rough draft is perfectly fine
* Answer questions regarding careers in communications/English/arts

Dress Casual. All are welcome to drop by and stay for as long as you wish.

Employer Info. Session - Enterprise Rent-A-Car

Please consider attending an employer informational session with Enterprise Rent-A-Car on Tuesday, November 27. FREE Pizza from noon - 1:00 p.m. So, we know how many pizza's to order, we ask that you email tilton@augsburg.edu to let me know that you are planning on attending.

The event will take place in our Career & Internship Services Office, Suite 100 of the Christensen Center. Enterprise Rent-A-Car is the largest car rental company in North America. They have more than 65,000 employees and over 7,000 locations in the U.S., Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Ireland. Being that all of their promotions are from within, they recruit and hire for one position only -- Entry Level Sales and Management Trainee position.

Must be a current junior standing or above with a targeted graduation date of December 2013 or Spring 2014
