Vehicles Up for Bid on Facilities Moodle
Facilities Management would like to introduce the "Recycle Bin" to the Augsburg community. Periodically, there are items in inventory that are no longer needed by the College and the "Recycle Bin" will be used eliminate these items.
The first two items going up for bid are the 1993 grey Athletic Department van and the 1993 Public Safety Ford Ranger. Bidding on these two items begins on Thursday, Sept. 27, and will end on Friday, Oct. 5. Please go to the Facilities Management Moodle site for additional information.

Spring Day and WEC Winter Book Orders Due
Faculty, please submit all your course needs for the upcoming semester to me at forgey@augsburg.edu by October 31. Fall books will be returned beginning October 15, please let me know if we can hold over your books for the winter and spring semester. Thanks to all who have already submitted.

Scholarship Awards
$700 Scholarship Award
For Immediate Release: StayFitInCollege.org, which promotes
fitness in college, has just announced scholarship awards for the
2012/2013 academic year. There is no purchase necessary to apply
for the scholarship. The scholarship award aims to help students
avoid the dreaded freshman 15.
Any student that attends a university, community college, or even a
technical/trade college may apply for the scholarship award.
Also, up to the first 10 applicants of each deadline month (see
below) will receive one free product of their choice from Stay Fit
In College.
Prospective student applicants should contact their school's
scholarship office and request an application or simply visit http://www.stayfitincollege.org/scholarship-awards.html to be
considered.

Bookstore Hours This Weekend
Bookstore is open on Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday the store is open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. We will also be in the park from 10:30 a.m. to noon and at the football game from 12:30-2 p.m.

Get Your Turkey Leg On: RenFest Discount
Augsburg College students, staff, and faculty members can receive a discount when purchasing tickets online for the Renaissance Festival [RenFest]. The Festival is open Saturdays and Sundays from August 18 to September 30. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Open rain or shine, and there is always free parking at the Festival!
Today is Festival Friday. Special features include Ladies Shopping Day and College Discount Day.
1. Go to the Minnesota Renaissance Festival homepage (www.renaissancefest.com) and click on the banner at the top of the page that indicates Buy Tickets.
2. You will come to a page with a listing of different themed events happening at the Renaissance Festival and links to buy tickets. The first result that will show is the Minnesota Renaissance Festival: Gate Admission Tickets and Season Passes. Click on the blue box that says "Tickets" that is right of the title.
3. Under the gray box that says Minnesota Renaissance Festival: Gate Tickets and Season Passes, you will come to a text box where you may input your promotional code. Type in your promotional code and click on Apply Code. This will apply your discount to the general admission tickets for adult and children admissions. (The code is not case sensitive)

b. Your ticket prices should pop up after clicking on Apply Code with the ticket prices: A. Adult: $16.75; B. Child: $8.85
Do NOT select Ticket Quantity from the GENERAL PUBLIC)

5. Select Delivery Method
6. Click on Get Tickets (This part may take a moment to process)
7. You will be directed to a My Cart page. Check to make sure everything is correct. There will be a service fee that will be added which will make each individual ticket: A. Adult: $16.75 + $1.25 = $18.00; B. Child: $ 8.85 + $1.15 = $10.00

Homecoming Dance hosted by KAUG Radio
WHO: KAUG Radio is hosting a Homecoming dance TONIGHT (Friday, Sept. 28)
WHAT: The dance theme is "Night with the Stars," a classic Hollywood theme. Semi-formal attire-- come see everyone in some classy garb!
WHERE: The dance will be held in the Oren Gateway Center (OGC) lobby. Enjoy the open quarters in a way you normally wouldn't during classes-- filled with decor and dance beats all night!
WHEN: TONIGHT, THE DANCE IS TONIGHT! 9 p.m.-12 a.m.
WHY: Well, it is homecoming after all... and who doesn't want to dance off the stresses from the beginning of first semester.

Biology Student Research Symposium - October 3
Interested in research? Want to learn about research opportunities in Biology?
Tri-Beta and the Biology Department will host their annual What I Did On My Summer Vacation Research Symposium on Wednesday, October 3 beginning at 5:30 p.m. in SCI 123.
