Staff Development Series - TOMORROW

All staff are invited to participate in the ongoing series designed for staff. This series addresses both personal and professional development needs. Sessions will be held on from. The remaining workshops scheduled for Spring and Summer 2012 include:

Students: Looking for Your 2011 1098T Tax Form?

The 2011 1098T tax form is now available online. Students who were billed for educational expenses in the 2011 tax year will have one available to them. You may access it by logging into Augnet, Records and Registration and selecting the "Make a Payment/Account Activity" link. The form is listed under the "Your Bills" heading, titled 2011. To view more information about the form, please visit the Enrollment Center website.

Spring WEC Class: Intro to American Indian Studies

Looking for classes to take in the spring?

The American Indian Studies department has Introduction to American Indian Studies: (AIS 105) for this spring trimester. This class meets on Sundays 1:00-5:00pm.

This class is designed to introduce students to the content areas of the American Indian studies curriculum; this course includes an overview of American Indian history, federal Indian policy, land issues, reservation and urban issues, cross-cultural influences, and American Indian literature, art, music, and language.

Free Lockers Available for Students

Campus Activities and Orientation has a limited number of lockers that students can reserve for their use for the academic year. These lockers are completely free and are located on the ground floor of Science Building. Lockers are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, and priority is given to students who commute from off-campus. Please go to http://web.augsburg.edu/cao to find the locker request form and return it to the Auggie's Nest located on the basement level of Christensen Center.

Housing Expo Information

Selection numbers for all eligible current students have been e-mailed as of February 13th.
The e-mails are being sent by agr-reports@augsburg.edu. Students with ARHOLDS will be sent their selection numbers as soon as their holds are removed. For more information about your ARHOLD please contact enroll@augsburg.edu. For more information about the Housing Expo please stop by our table in Christensen Center on Tuesday, Feb 28 from 9:30 - 11:00am, in Christensen Center on Wednesday, March 7 from 12:30 - 3:00 pm, or in East Commons, CC on March 7 from 12:30-1:30pm.

13th Annual Augsburg Leadership Awards Nominations

Nominations are now being accepted for the 13th annual Augsburg Leadership Awards! Students, staff, faculty, alums, and community members are strongly encouraged to nominate their fellow student leaders, student groups, and student group advisers for a variety of awards. People may also nominate themselves or a student group in which they are involved. Winners will be honored at the Augsburg Leadership Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, April 10th at 4:30 PM.

Scholastic Connections Applications Due March 1

ATTENTION UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS OF COLOR:
Scholastic Connections is a scholarship and mentorship program for undergraduate students of color at Augsburg College. Students who are successful in their application process and are selected to participate, receive a $5000 scholarship and are paired with a successful alum of color who serves as mentor for the Scholar.

Six "new" Scholars will be selected for the program for 2012-13.

Eligibility criteria:
• Current Augsburg student or advanced standing transfer student
• Demonstrated financial need
• Demonstrated leadership ability or potential
• Demonstrated community involvement (on or off campus)
• GPA of 2.5 or higher

Application Process:
• Applicants must complete the following:
• Scholastic Connections Application (due 3/1)
• One letter of recommendation from someone other than a family member (due 3/1)
• A completed financial aid file – a completed FAFSA (due 3/1 in the Enrollment Center)
• An application interview with Cindy Peterson (completion deadline 3/15) – instructions to follow receipt of application


APPLICATION DEADLINE IS 3/1.

You are Beautiful Tabling TODAY

In recognition of Eating Disorders Awareness Week, CCHP invites you to stop by Christensen Center TODAY - Monday 2/27 from 12:30 - 2 pm to send a "You are Beautiful" card to someone to remind them how beautiful they are to you! You can also pick up information about positive body image as well.

Today's tabling is the first of a week long series of events and activities about nutrition, positive body image, eating disorders, mindful eating and more. Please be sure to check the a-mail each day for daily event and activity announcements.

Anderson Hall Social

On Wednesday, March 7th at 8:30 Anderson Hall will be hosting a social to highlight the benefits of living in the Anderson Hall Community. This event will assist students who may be unsure about living in Anderson for the 2012-2013 school year. The Social will include tours of the four different dorm options, games, and snacks. Bring a few friends and your potential roommates.

In light of Housing Expo to be hosted on Tuesday, April 3rd from 3pm-10pm in the East Commons, the Anderson Hall Social will especially be beneficial.

The Anderson Hall Residence Life staff would love to see you there.

Indigenous Bolivian and Native American Film Fest.

Where Condor Meets Eagle: Indigenous Bolivian and Native American Film Festival and Cultural Exchange is a three-night film festival celebrating Indigenous film, collaborations across national boundaries, and visual storytelling. Come see world class films from Bolivia, Canada, and Minnesota and meet some of the filmmakers, engage in conversation, and enjoy three great evenings for free. Filmmakers from Bolivia will be present, all films in Spanish will be translated, and lovers of film are welcome.

Mindful Eating FREE AfroDeli food Tues 6pm OGC 100

Students...Come experience a new way to eat--in honor of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week! This event will involve a catered meal from AfroDeli and be lead by local meditation student--Alex Haley. Alex has been studying meditation for almost 20 years! He will guide us through a mindful eating experience that first involves becoming aware of the moment and letting go of any distractions. Then we'll chew slowly, stop talking, and tune in to the wonders of AfroDeli...you don't want to miss this!

Co-sponsored by the Augsburg Mindfulness Club and the Center for Counseling & Health Promotion.
