When Is It Justifiable to Withhold Forgiveness?

Approximately 20 high school students from around Minnesota will gather at Augsburg College on Sunday June 26th to spend a week studying theology at our annual Augsburg College Youth Theology Institute. This year's theme is “Our Wild and Reckless God: What Does Forgiveness Mean?” Dr. Mark Tranvik, Professor and Chair of Religion at Augsburg College, will guide the students through a theological exploration of forgiveness in class during the week. The students' classroom learning will be enhanced with a variety of community-based learning experiences including a visit to Mt. Zion Temple, the Basilica of St. Mary, Thrivent's religious art gallery, and Campus Kitchen. We also take in a fair share of fun and good food during the week. If you see this group on campus, be sure to ask them what they know about forgiveness.

Coopers Coffee Shop Construction

Hello fellow Auggies,

This message is going out to the community to inform you about the transformation of Coopers coffee shop into an Einstein's Bagel Bros. Einstein's has partnered with A'viands to offer a full retail store on some college campuses.

Of course, this transformation will require some construction. The area from the coffee shop to the student computers will be covered in poly for the next 2.5 weeks during construction. Most of the construction with “noise' will be done on off hours and weekends. That is not to say you won't hear some banging every now and then, but the construction company understands the setting and will keep the noise to a minimum.

During construction, food items to be purchased in that area will be limited. A'viands will offer coffee in that area during construction. It will be the coffee without the bells and whistle,s but there will be regular and decaf offered. We are moving the espresso machine and the grab-n-go to Nabo. The Coffee shop hours, during construction, will be 7:30-10 a.m. and then Nabo will be open from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Construction will be completed July 17 (give or take a day or two). We have a soft opening scheduled for the week of July 17. There will be a pre-grand opening on Sept. 1 and a full grand opening scheduled for the first day of school. If you have any questions, feel free to call or send me an e-mail. Thanks in advance for your patience. It will be worth it in the end!

She will have the opportunity to tour local Washington, D.C. health clinics as well as learn essential skills from public health leaders. Her own project, "Healthier Women, Healthier Minnesota: Nutrition and Healthy Lifestyles Curriculum," aims to develop a nutrition and healthy lifestyle curriculum to be utilized by clinicians at Family Tree Clinic in St. Paul during annual well-woman checkups and nutrition visits. Abby hopes to have her curriculum complete and available for providers to begin using at Family Tree by December 2011.
