Fitness Assessments
Get your free fitness assessment !!
The month of April we are offering you the opportunity to have a complete fitness appraisal through the Health Fitness program.
The Health Fitness students have been assigned the task of recruiting a fellow Auggie and bringing them into the Exercise Physiology Lab for a fitness assessment. April is the time to Spring into action and take advantage of this fitness profile which features our new body composition assessment tool. The BodPod is the latest and most innovative way to obtain a non-invasive measure of your body composition. For this assessment you will be asked to sit in a chamber (much like a phone booth) for about 1 minute. This entire fitness assessment is free of charge the bod pod alone typically costs $75 at a health fitness facility.
Procedures:
If you agree to participate, we would ask you to perform the following assessments to the best of your ability, it is not necessary to stress or strain or over-exert yourself:
1. Attainment of your resting heart rate and resting blood pressure.
2. The aerobic capacity test: the Microfit walk test will be used to determine cardiovascular fitness. This test has you walking 3.0 miles per hour on an incline of 5.0% for 6 minutes.
3. The 60-second curl-up test. How many sit-ups can you do in 1 minute.
4. The sit-and-reach back flexibility.
5. The 60-second push-up test. How many push-ups can you do in 1 minute.
6. The BodPod body composition evaluation. Sit in the BodPod for 3 minutes.
7. Hand grip strength assessment. Squeeze a hand dynamometer.
Upon completion, you will receive a report that outlines your current fitness status and makes comparisons to national benchmarks.
