Seminary & Divinity School Fair Sept. 25 @ Gustavus
If you are interested in exploring a possible vocation as a pastor, lay ministry professional, religion professor, AIM, or deacon, then you will want to check out the Seminary & Divinity School Fair held on September 25 at Gustavus Adolphus College. Augsburg will be brining a contingent of students to visit with representatives from nearly 20 top-notch schools, participate in break-out sessions that explore the possibilities of a seminary or divinity school education, and talk with current students and recent alumni about their experiences.
We will depart Augsburg at 8 a.m. and return at about 5 p.m. The day begins with chapel at Gustavus, followed by a welcome and introductory comments. A lunch, featuring Augsburg MIS professor and pastor, Lee Clarke will happen mid-day breakout sessions in the afternoon. All day long, representatives from seminaries and divinity schools will be on hand to answer questions about programs and vocational opportunities.
This day is an important way to explore possibilities with people who want to help you find your best fit for a school, a career, and a vocation. Students who are just "checking it out" are encouraged to attend as well.
Talk to Religion Faculty or Campus Ministry staff about this possibility. To register, email Ross Murray at murray@augsburg.edu.

I DO Want a Burger
Hey do you want fries with that? Come down and eat a Murphy's on the ground floor of the Christensen Center. Open from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., you can get your burgers fries onion rings chicken fingers and Hot Moo (come see what that is). And for the first time, first-years have flex dollars to use there. And if you are looking for an energy drink or to get your own Twix, yeah we got that too. So when the line to Commons is too long, come down stair and eat at Murphy's Grill.
C-Store Run
Augsburg Dining has done it again! We would like to invite you to come check out your new C-store located in Murphy's. The store will be open Monday - Friday 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and from 6 - 9 p.m. So when you come to get one of our new grill items, don't forget to by some Tylenol to combat the buzz of the store! See you there!
No Card, No Eat
It is vital for you to bring your card when you come to eat. Whether you are using flex dollars or board, it is for your safety that you use your card. Others around you can hear your number and then use up all of your points. We have requested that all cashiers ask for a card in order to best serve you. So when the cashier asks for your card, remember that it is in your best interest and safety.
Eurydice, Fall Theatre Auditions
Eurydice Theater Auditions, Monday, September 8, 7 p.m.
The Augsburg Theater Arts Department will hold auditions for its fall main stage production, Eurydice, by Sarah Ruhl, directed by Martha Johnson. Auditions will be held Monday, September 8, from 7 - 9:30 p.m. in the Tjornhom-Nelson Theater, Foss Center. An audition sign-up sheet is posted on the Tjornhom-Nelson Theater door in the Atrium of the Foss Center.
All Augsburg students are welcome to audition! Audition monologues and copies of the play Eurydice have been placed on reserve in the library under Martha Johnsons name. Monologues need not be memorized, but should be well-prepared. It is recommended that you read the entire play in order to have a sense of the tone of the piece and the nature of the characters.
Call-back auditions will be held Wednesday, September 10, from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m.
Description of Eurydice: In this poignant and enchanting play, Sarah Ruhl (Pulitzer Prize nominee and MacArthur "genius grant" winner) presents her contemporary take on the ancient Greek tale of Eurydice and Orpheus. Written after her fathers death, Ruhl meditates with delicacy and insight on Eurydices painful decision whether to remain with her father in the Underworld, or to return with her love Orpheus to the land of the living. ". . . exhilarating. . .we enter a surreal world, as lush and limpid as a dream, where both author and audience swim in the magical and thrilling flow of the unconscious."--The New Yorker
