Academic Alert Reminder
Message:
The Academic Alert system is up and running for the term. Thanks to each of you who submitted Academic Alert messages in previous terms. We hope you will continue to use Academic Alert. All Instructors, Day/Weekend, regular/adjunct, are encouraged to send an alert message to a student when academic problem areas are identified. Problem areas might include, but are not limited to: lack of attendance, unprepared for class, poor performance on test and assignments, and or lack of participation. Academic Alert is not meant to replace face to face interaction with students. Each of you likely addresses academic issues with students as they arise. The alert message can however be used in addition to speaking with the student and/or when you have been unable to reach them via phone or e-mail. The electronic alert message replaces the paper format of the Mid-Term Progress Report. We hope that by reporting concerns early, students will have greater opportunity to correct the situation and salvage the course.

We have some extra home furnishings which we do not need, but would like to see them put to good use. So if you need (or know of someone who needs) feel free to contact me. Most of what remains belonged to my Brother-in-law and his wife but doesn't match the decor of their new home.
