Message: On Wednesday, March 7 from 3:30-5:00 p.m. in the Marshall Room Professor Brad Holt will give a presentation entitled "Africa and the Future of Christianity: Reflections on a Visit to Nigeria." You are invited.

Africa, home to some of the earliest Christians, has become in recent years the population center of world Christianity. As Europeans have
been abandoning Christian faith, Africans have be adopting and adapting the tradition. What are the future growth projections for Christianity in Africa and in the West? What sorts of Christianity will be most numerous and most powerful in the rest of our century? This illustrated lecture, based on Dr. Holt's experience of living almost a decade in Africa, his reading, and his recent visit to Nigeria will provide the grist for our discussion of what is on the horizon.

How Do Airlines Set Ticket Prices?
An Introduction to Revenue Management

The term "revenue management" refers to a broad collection of quantitative approaches, grounded in operations research and mathematical modeling, for dynamically controlling prices and availability of products that are comprised of limited perishable resources. Perhaps the best known application is in the airline industry, where the products are tickets, the resources are seats on flights, and the objective is to maximize expected revenue from the sale of tickets. In this talk I will give an overview of revenue management, including descriptions of both application areas and underlying methodologies.
