On SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 11, the art club will be taking the lightrail (bring money) to downtown Minneapolis for a photo scavenger hunt. We will meet in the Urn/Mort lobby at 11 a.m. to head over to the lightrail. If anyone is interested, after the scavenger hunt we will meet again as a group to eat somewhere together. Please bring a camera of your own, rent one from the school, or borrow a friends as art club doesn't have any of its own. The pictures we take this weekend will be displayed in the student art gallery in January.

Message: Religion professor Mary Lowe has just published an article, "The faith we sing: How hymns reflect and challenge our beliefs," in the November 2006 issue of The Lutheran Magazine. Lowe's article encourages her readers to explore the diverse images of Jesus (warrior, friend, shepherd) found in the hymnody of the Lutheran tradition. Lowe notes that the arrival of a new hymnal for ELCA Lutherans (Evangelical Lutheran Worship) is an opportune time to consider the religious claims and images found in hymns.
