This Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 12:30 p.m., sculptor Sam Spiczka will be discussing his exhibition "Reliquiae." If you haven't yet seen it, now is your chance since the show closes in the Gage Family Art Gallery on Friday, Oct. 27. A local art critic gave the show a rave review, describing Spiczka as "gifted," his relics as "masterful," and the Gage Family Art Gallery as "architectually perfect [for the display of art]." The dates for this year's Advent Vespers is December 1 and 2 at 5 and 8 p.m. Advent Vespers is held at Central Lutheran Church in downtown Minneapolis. Transportation will be provided to and from. One of Augsburg's graduate students in nursing, Kathrynn Mae Powell, died tragically on Saturday after a fall down a flight of stairs on Friday. Kathrynn was employed at the Mayo Clinic where she was a nurse manager on an in-patient adult acute care unit.

Nancy Fischer Publishes Book
Message: Nancy Fischer, Sociology and Metro-Urban Studies, has published and co-edited "Introducing the New Sexuality Studies: Original Essays and Interviews" [Routledge, 2006]. The book includes Nancy's own chapter, "Purity and Pollution: Sex as a Moral Discourse", along with 50 original essays and twelve interviews with leading scholars in the field which convey some of the most innovative work being done. Her co-editors are Steven Seidman and Chet Meeks of SUNY, Albany and Georgia State. |
