"Oddly enough, many who are readers or potential readers of Christian theology (since they are Christians) seem not to want to hear that anything is seriously wrong. Large numbers of people on this continent go to church for the precise reason of avoiding any such suggestion. . . . Not only do we deceive ourselves, but we perpetuate systems of injustice, oppression, and want by which other human beings are daily humiliated." Douglas John Hall
