The Campus Kitchen at Augsburg College is pleased to announce its yearly fundraiser and food drive, Turkeypalooza. This year, we are preparing and serving 500 Thanksgiving meals to our community, and we need your help.
Message: Jane Fonda is postponing her convocation at Augsburg College celebrating the Anne Pederson's Women's Resource Center Koryne Horbal lecture due to health issues. It is her plan to reschedule for sometime during spring semester.
Message: Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will be holding an informational meeting Wednesday, November 16th at 4:30 p.m. in the Cedar Room. They are looking to hire juniors (or 3rd year students) that are interested in Informational Technology. These are paid summer internships! In addition, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will be talking about their internships/full-time jobs as Financial Advisors. Financial Advisors can be students Sophomore - Senior Year or alum. Message: In May-June 2005, 11 Augsburg students and 2 staff traveled to Namibia and South Africa for a history course on Racism and Resistance in Southern Africa and the US. The trip was sponsored by the Pan Afrikan Center, coordinated by the Center for Global Education, and supported in part by the Lilly Endowment as one of the international seminars exploring faith and vocation in a global context. Please join us for the premiere of a 50 minute video that documents the experiences of the students and staff on this trip on Tuesday, November 15, Sateren Auditorium, 4-5:30 p.m. Join the Office of International Programs and the Ethnic Student Services programs in Murphy Place beforehand from 2:30-4 p.m. in celebration of International Education Week. Message: The Augsburg Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Douglas Diamond, will be performing on Sunday, November 13, 2005 at 7 p.m. in Hoversten Chapel. There will be a reception following the concert. All are invited to attend.

Message: Even though Jane Fonda will not be here this month, we will be reading her new book, My Life at the Women's Resource Center beginning Wednesday November 30th during our pot luck lunch sessions. If you would like a copy of the book, several free copies are available. Email Barbara Lehmann @ lehmann@augsburg.edu to reserve a copy. Come by next Wednesday November 16th to pick it up or to join us for good conversation and a pot-luck lunch.

Change your plans if you had them, because there is going to be a night of amazing and fun entertainment in the Christensen Center tonight from 8-11 p.m. We have a poker night in the East Commons, where you can play texas hold'em, blackjack, and possibly win $100 from Best Buy, or other prizes. In West Commons there is a Latin dance, with free lessons from 8-8:30 p.m. Downstairs by the coffee shop we have a spa night for those who just want to relax. Get a haircut, a back massage, give yourself a pedicure or a manicure, and eat some chocolate of course.
